6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Key Functions
The K68 keyboard features a compact 68-key layout. Many functions are accessed via the Fn (Function) key combined with other keys.
- Fn + [Key]: Specific multimedia or system functions may be assigned to various keys when pressed with Fn. Refer to the keycap legends for specific combinations.
- Full Key Rollover: The keyboard supports N-key rollover, meaning all key presses are registered simultaneously, preventing ghosting or missed inputs during fast typing or gaming.
6.2. Backlight Control
The K68 features 20 RGB lighting modes. Use the following combinations to control the backlight:
- Fn + \|: Cycle through different RGB lighting effects.
- Fn + ↑ / ↓: Adjust backlight brightness.
- Fn + ← / →: Adjust backlight speed or direction (depending on the effect).
6.3. Hot-Swapping Switches
The K68 keyboard is all-key hot-swappable, allowing you to change mechanical switches without soldering. This enables customization of typing feel and sound.
- Remove Keycap: Use the included keycap puller to gently remove the desired keycap.
- Remove Switch: Use the included switch puller to carefully grip the top and bottom clips of the switch and pull it straight up.
- Insert New Switch: Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Gently push the switch down until it clicks into place. Ensure the pins are not bent.

7. Maintenance
7.1. Cleaning the Keyboard
- Keycaps: Use the keycap puller to remove keycaps. Clean them with a mild soap solution and a soft cloth, then dry thoroughly before reattaching.
- Keyboard Body: Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the surface. For dust and debris between keys, use compressed air.
- Switches: If switches feel gritty, they can be removed and cleaned or lubricated (for advanced users).
7.2. Battery Care
- Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
- Store the keyboard in a cool, dry place if not used for extended periods.
- Charge the keyboard regularly to maintain battery health.
8. Troubleshooting
8.1. Keyboard Not Responding
- Wired Mode: Ensure the USB-C cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer. Try a different USB port or cable.
- 2.4G Wireless Mode: Ensure the 2.4G receiver is plugged in and the keyboard is switched to 2.4G mode. Try re-pairing (Fn + 2.4G mode key).
- Bluetooth Mode: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the keyboard is in Bluetooth mode. Re-pair the device if necessary.
- Battery: Check if the battery is charged. Connect the keyboard via USB-C to charge.
8.2. Keys Not Registering or Double-Typing
- Dust/Debris: Clean under the keycaps and around the switches using compressed air.
- Faulty Switch: If a specific key is consistently problematic, the hot-swappable switch might be faulty. Replace it with a new one using the switch puller.
8.3. Backlight Issues
- Brightness: Ensure the brightness is not set to minimum (Fn + ↑).
- Mode: Cycle through different lighting modes (Fn + \|) to see if the issue persists across all modes.
- Software: If applicable, check for any companion software settings that might be overriding keyboard controls.
9. User Tips
- Experiment with Switches: Take advantage of the hot-swappable design to try different mechanical switches (e.g., linear, tactile, clicky) to find your preferred typing feel.
- Customize RGB: Explore all 20 lighting modes and adjust brightness and speed to match your setup or mood.
- Firmware Updates: Periodically check the manufacturer's website for any available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and new features.
- Battery Management: For prolonged wireless use, consider turning off RGB lighting when not needed to conserve battery life.
