4. Setup & Installation

4.1. Connecting Batteries

Before connecting batteries in series or parallel, ensure all batteries meet the following criteria:

  • Batteries have the Same Voltage (V), Same Capacity (Ah), and are the Same Type (Lithium iron phosphate (LiFePO4)).
  • As the built-in Battery Management System (BMS) may vary between brands, we advise you to choose batteries from the Same Brand for connection.

For optimal performance, fully charge all ready-to-connect batteries.

All battery interconnect cables should be of the same wire gauge (AWG) and length, and come from the same brand. Otherwise, the impedance will be inconsistent, resulting in unbalanced charge and discharge performance.

Connect your batteries one by one in series (up to 4 batteries) or in parallel (up to 4 batteries). Secure all cable connections between the cable lugs and terminals.

4.2. Cable Sizing

When determining the cable size (AWG) for your system, consider the size of the electrical load you want to power and the distance between the electrical load and your batteries. Refer to the tables below for guidance:

6. Maintenance

6.1. Storage

To store your battery, keep it at least 30%-50% charged. We recommend that you charge the battery every 6 months when not in use to prevent over-discharge.

6.2. General Care

  • Keep the battery away from rain, splashes, and any wet locations.
  • Avoid exposing the battery to fire, heat sources, or direct sunlight.
  • Do not drop, crush, shake, strike, or penetrate the battery.

7. Troubleshooting

Your MFUZOP LiFePO4 battery is equipped with a Smart Built-in Battery Management System (BMS) to ensure safe operation and protect against various issues. The BMS provides multiple security protections:

  • Overvoltage Protection: Prevents damage from excessive voltage during charging.
  • Overcurrent Protection: Safeguards against currents exceeding safe limits.
  • Overload Protection: Protects the battery from drawing too much power.
  • Short Circuit Protection: Automatically disconnects the battery in case of a short circuit.
  • Over-discharge Protection: Prevents the battery from discharging below a safe voltage level.
  • Temperature Protection: Monitors and manages battery temperature to prevent overheating or operation in extreme cold.
  • Overcharge Protection: Stops charging once the battery reaches its full capacity to prevent overcharging.
  • Reverse Charge Prevention: Protects against incorrect charging polarity.

If the battery is fully discharged continuously, it cannot be recharged immediately at half capacity, which will trigger high-temperature charging protection. Allow the battery to cool down before attempting to recharge.
