Setup
Connecting the Device
The KONNWEI KW350 is designed for plug-and-play operation. No external power supply is needed as it draws power directly from the vehicle's OBDII port.
- Locate the OBDII 16-pin port in your vehicle. This port is typically found under the dashboard, near the steering wheel.
- Connect the KW350's diagnostic cable to the vehicle's OBDII port.
- The device will power on automatically. Follow the on-screen instructions to begin diagnostics.
Language Selection
The device supports English and German languages. To change the language:
- From the Main Menu, navigate to 'System Setup'.
- Select 'Language'.
- Choose your desired language (English or Deutsch).

Special Functions for VAG Vehicles
The KW350 provides four powerful special functions for professional use on VAG vehicles:
- Oil Service Reset: Resets the maintenance-required meter after an oil change. Compatible with KWP1281, KWP2000, TP CAN, UDS protocols.
- EPB Reset Brake Pad: Resets the electronic parking brake after brake pad replacement. Compatible with TP CAN (2005-2012) and UDS (2012-NOW) protocols.
- Throttle Position Adaption: Adapts the throttle position. Compatible with KWP1281, KWP2000, TP, CAN, UDS protocols.
- Battery Matching (BMS Reset): Evaluates battery charge state, monitors close-circuit current, registers battery replacement, and activates the rest state of the vehicle. Compatible with TP CAN, UDS protocols.
Universal OBDII Functions
In addition to VAG-specific functions, the KW350 supports full OBDII functions for all OBD2 certified vehicles when the "check engine light" comes on:
- Retrieves generic (P0, P2, P3, and U0), manufacturer specific (P1, P3, and U1) codes, and pending codes.
- Easily determines the cause of the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL).
- Turns off Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL), clears codes and resets monitors.
- Displays DTC definitions on the TFT screen without checking online.
- Views freeze frame data stored in car computer board.
- Displays monitor and I/M readiness status (emissions related).
- Reads live PCM data stream and display in both text mode and graph mode.

Maintenance

Troubleshooting
Compatibility Issues
While the KW350 is compatible with most cars, vehicle OBD2 protocol support can vary by region and specific car designs. Some cars may not support the OBD2 protocol, especially certain Japanese and Korean car brands, or Russian cars before 2012 (VAZ, UAZ, LADA). It does not work with trucks.
