5. Setup and Installation
This section provides step-by-step instructions for setting up your Sunster 8KW All-in-One Diesel Air Heater. For a visual guide, please refer to the installation video below.
5.1. Unpacking and Initial Check
- Check Accessories: After unpacking, verify that all accessories listed in the 'Package Contents' section are present and undamaged.
- Attach Foot Stand: Align the bottom corner of the foot stand with the holes on both sides of the machine's bottom. Use a soft hammer to gently tap the foot stand into place.
5.2. Preparing Mounting Surface
- Measure Pipe Distance: Measure the distance between the intake pipe and the exhaust pipe interfaces on the heater.
- Mark and Drill Holes: Mark the corresponding positions on your mounting surface (e.g., floor of RV) and punch holes for the intake and exhaust pipes.
- Test Fit: Temporarily place the heater with the exhaust and intake pipes through the punched holes to ensure a normal fit. Mark the bottom corner holes for the foot stand.
- Drill Foot Stand Holes: Punch holes at the marked positions for the foot stand.
5.3. Installing Exhaust and Intake Pipes
- Exhaust Pipe Installation:
- Straighten the exhaust pipe.
- Put a clamp on one end of the exhaust pipe.
- Screw the clamped end into the bottom left interface of the heater.
- Tighten the clamp securely.
- Intake Pipe Installation:
- Take out the intake pipe and put a clamp on one end.
- Screw the clamped end into the bottom right interface of the heater.
- Tighten the clamp securely.
- Secure Heater: Put screws through the foot stand holes and secure them with nuts from underneath the mounting surface.
- Install Air Filter:
- Put a clamp on the free end of the intake pipe.
- Screw the air filter into the intake pipe.
- Tighten the clamp.
- Attach the fixing plate to the intake pipe sleeve and secure it with fixing screws using a drill or appropriate equipment.
- Install Silencer:
- Put a clamp on the free end of the exhaust pipe.
- Screw the silencer into the exhaust pipe.
- Tighten the clamp.
- Attach the fixing screw and right-angle fixing plate to the silencer and secure it with a nut and yellow screws using a drill or appropriate equipment.
5.4. Installing Heating Ducts
- Open Duct: Open the flexible heating duct.
- Attach Duct: Place a clamp at the duct interface on the heater. Install the duct at the air outlet interface.
- Secure Duct: Tighten the clamp to fix the heating duct in position.
5.5. Connecting Power
- Power Adapter Connection (AC):
- Connect the power adapter to the heater.
- Remove the machine terminal position cover.
- Place the wire copper ring (red for positive, black for negative) in the corresponding color terminal and tighten it.
- Remove the plastic sleeve from the power adapter plug.
- Connect the plug to a patch panel. The power adapter indicator should turn green.
- Battery Connection (DC):
- Use double-ended terminals (battery power cord).
- Remove the machine terminal position cover.
- Place the positive and negative copper rings in the corresponding color terminals and tighten them.
- Ensure to use the voltage specified in the product (DC 12V or 24V).

6.1. Control Methods
- LCD Display Screen: The integrated LCD panel allows direct control and monitoring of the heater's status.
- Remote Control: A remote control is included for convenient operation from a distance of up to 164 ft (50 meters).
- Bluetooth App Control: Download the 'Sunster' app from Google Play (Android) or the App Store (iOS) to control the heater via Bluetooth within 98 ft (30 meters). The app offers automatic, manual, and manual refueling modes.

6.2. Operating Modes (S-A2302B)
- Ventilation Mode: The fan operates without heating, circulating air. Wind speed can be set from 1 to 10 gears.
- Gear Mode: Heating according to a set gear (1-10 gears).
- Strong Heating Mode: Heater runs at maximum output power for up to 2 hours.
- Temperature Control Mode: Operation gear adjusts automatically based on the difference between set and ambient temperature. The lowest operating gear is 1, and it does not stop. Temperature setting range: 8°C-36°C.
- Constant Temperature Mode: Similar to temperature control mode. If ambient temperature is 2°C higher than set, heating stops. If ambient temperature is 2°C lower than set, heating automatically resumes.
6.3. Basic Operation
- Power On: In shutdown mode, press the power button to turn on. The LCD screen will display the current status.
- Power Off: In running state, press the power button to turn off. The LCD screen will turn off after shutdown.
- Mode Switch: In running state, press the knob to switch between different modes.
- Parameter Adjustment: Rotate the knob to adjust the setting gear or temperature.
- View Carbon Monoxide Value: In running state, press the knob twice to view the current CO value, then press the power button to exit. (Requires specific CO remote control A2422).
6.4. Setting Mode
In the running state, press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to enter setting mode. Rotate the knob to select setting items. Press the knob to enter/confirm, rotate to adjust value, press again to save, and finally press the power button to exit.
- F0: Current time setting
- F1: Timing start time setting
- F2: Timing start after running time setting
- F3: Timing function on or off setting
- F4: Voice broadcast voice setting (RU for Russian, EN for English, GE for German, OF for voice off)
- F5: Ambient temperature compensation setting (-9°C to 9°C, default 0°C)
- F6: Fuel tank oil level setting
- F7: Fuel pump type setting
- F8: Constant temperature mode function setting
- F9: Temperature unit switching setting (Fahrenheit/Celsius)
- FA: Backlight brightness level setting (0-100, default 100)
- Fb: Full tank icon setting (for refueling)
- FC: Carbon monoxide alarm value setting (0-500, default 0/off; requires A2422 CO remote control)
6.5. Remote Control Quick Pairing
When the device is powered on, press the power button (▲) for 3 seconds. The screen will display 'P - 0 1'. Press any button on the remote control to successfully match. The screen will automatically return to the running interface upon success.
6.6. Forced Oil Pumping
If the heater is installed for the first time or the fuel line is not completely filled, use forced oil pumping. Disconnect the switch power supply, wait over 10 seconds, then turn on the power. After the LCD screen goes out, press and hold the knob for about 5 seconds to enter forced oil pumping mode. The oil pump will operate at a higher frequency. The LCD screen counts down from 300 seconds. When the countdown ends, the mode exits automatically, or you can press the power button to exit.
7. Maintenance
- Refueling: When the fuel tank icon indicates low fuel, use the 'Full tank function' (Fb setting) to refill the tank.
- Airflow Check: Regularly check the air inlet and outlet for any blockages to ensure proper airflow and prevent overheating.
- Fuel System Check: Periodically check the fuel tank for fuel level and ensure the fuel pipe is not blocked.
- General Cleaning: Keep the exterior of the heater clean and free from dust and debris.
