1. Introduction

2.1 Laser Safety

This device emits a laser beam. Observe the following safety precautions:

  • Laser Class: Normal mode conforms to Class 2 (<1mW). Outdoor mode conforms to Class 3A.

  • Do not aim the laser beam at people or animals.
  • Avoid direct eye exposure to the laser beam.

3.2 Display and Controls

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
  2. Open the cover.
  3. Insert 3x AAA 1.5V batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-). Batteries are not included.
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

  • Press the Power button () to turn the device on.
  • To turn off, press and hold the Power button or wait for automatic shutdown.

5.2 Measurement Modes

The device supports various measurement methods:

  • Single Measurement: Press the MEAS button once to emit the laser, press again to take a single distance measurement.
  • Continuous Measurement: Activate continuous measurement mode to track distances in real-time. The display will show current, maximum, and minimum values.
  • Area Measurement: Take two measurements (length and width) to calculate the area.
  • Volume Measurement: Take three measurements (length, width, and height) to calculate the volume.
  • Pythagorean Theorem Calculation: Use this mode for indirect measurements, such as height, by measuring two or three sides of a right-angled triangle.

5.3 Unit Conversion

Press the U button to cycle through distance units (m/in/ft), area units (m²/ft²), and volume units (m³/ft³).

5.4 Measurement Basis Selection

The device allows you to select the measurement reference point:

  • Front Reference: Measurements are taken from the front edge of the device.
  • Back Reference: Measurements are taken from the back edge of the device.

Use the dedicated button (often labeled with an arrow icon pointing to the front or back) to switch between these reference points.

5.5 Laser Brightening

The device features a unique laser brightening button (often indicated by a sun icon) to enhance visibility of the green laser spot, especially in bright outdoor conditions.

5.6 Data Storage

The device can store up to 30 groups of historical measurement data. Refer to the on-screen menu for accessing and managing stored data.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the device in a dry, cool place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures (-20℃ to 60℃).
  • Battery: Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
  • Lens Care: Keep the laser emission and reception lenses clean for accurate measurements. Use a soft lens cloth if necessary.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Error Code Prompt: The device will display error codes if an issue occurs. Consult the on-screen message for guidance. Common issues include out-of-range measurements or obstructions.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Ensure the laser lens is clean, the measurement surface is suitable (not highly reflective or transparent), and the device is stable. Check the measurement reference point setting.
  • Device Not Powering On: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are charged.
