The MASTFUYI FY886B is a versatile, battery-powered digital moisture testing meter designed for measuring moisture content in various materials, as well as ambient temperature and humidity. 3. Setup
3.1 Battery Installation
- Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
- Open the battery compartment cover.
- Insert one 9V (6F 22) battery, ensuring correct polarity. (Battery not included in package).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3.2 Initial Power On
- Press the red Power On/Off button (5) to turn on the device.
- Remove the protective film from the LED display (1).
- The LED display will light up, showing ambient temperature, humidity, and moisture level indicators.

4.2 Measuring Moisture Content
- Select Measurement Mode: Press the 'MODE' button (4) to switch between Wood Moisture Measurement (indicated by a tree icon, 10) and Building Material Moisture Measurement (indicated by a brick wall icon, 11). The FY886B features universal modes for both, eliminating the need to distinguish between hardwoods/softwoods or various building materials.
- Insert Pins: Carefully insert the two sharp measurement pins into the material you wish to test. Ensure good contact for accurate readings.
- Read Measurement: The moisture percentage will be displayed in the Data Display Area (9). The device also provides visual alerts (12, 13, 14) for LOW, MID, or HIGH moisture levels.
- Data Hold: Press the 'HOLD' button (3) to freeze the current reading on the display. Press it again to release the hold.

4.3 Temperature Unit Selection
Press the '°C/°F' button (2) to switch between Celsius (°C) and Fahrenheit (°F) for temperature display.
4.4 Visual Alerts for Moisture Levels
The device provides instant visual alerts (LOW, MID, HIGH) to indicate the level of moisture risk. Refer to the table below for interpretation:

5. Maintenance
5.1 Replacing Measurement Pins
The measurement pins are replaceable. If the pins become dull or damaged, they can be replaced using the provided mini wrench or tweezer. A pair of spare pins is included in the box.
- Carefully unscrew the old pins using the mini wrench or tweezer.
- Insert the new pins and screw them in firmly.

5.2 Cleaning and Storage
- Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth after each use. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Ensure the pins are clean and dry before storage.
- Store the meter in its protective carrying case in a dry environment when not in use.
- Remove the battery if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.
