Introduction
This manual provides instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Mcezdy F4 E-bike Display. The F4 display is designed to enhance your electric bicycle riding experience by providing essential information and control functions. Please read this manual thoroughly before installation and use to ensure proper function and safety.
Compatibility and Important Notes
Important Compatibility Warning:
This display is exclusively compatible with controllers using the UART No.2 protocol. It is not compatible with other UART protocols (e.g., Bafang, KDS). Using this display with an incompatible controller may lead to abnormal operation or communication failure.

How to Determine Your Controller's Communication Protocol:
- Consult Manufacturer Documentation: Look for information in the user manual or technical documentation provided with your e-bike or controller.
- Check Existing Display: Examine your e-bike's current display to see which communication protocol it is compatible with.
- Contact Manufacturer/Seller: If unsure, contact the manufacturer or seller of your e-bike or controller for details about the communication protocols.

Ensure correct connection of the display to your e-bike's controller. The F4 display typically uses a 6-pin male waterproof connector. Refer to the detailed pinout diagram for proper wiring:
- Red (D+): Power positive
- Blue (K): Communication line
- Black (GND): Ground
- Green (RX): Receive data
- Yellow (TX): Transmit data
Match the connector type (e.g., 5-pin, 6-pin, SM 5Pin, SM 6Pin, SM 7PIN) to your controller's interface. Incorrect wiring can damage the display or controller.
Operating Instructions
Display Functions:

The F4 display provides comprehensive information and control over your e-bike's functions:
- Battery Indicator: Shows current battery level.
- Headlight Control: Activates/deactivates headlights.
- Boost Function: Provides temporary power assistance.
- Assist Levels (PAS): Adjusts the level of pedal assistance.
- Speed Display: Shows current speed (KM/H or MPH).
- Trip/Total Mileage: Displays distance for current trip and total accumulated distance.
- Running Time: Tracks the duration of your ride.
- Metric/Imperial Conversion: Allows switching between KM/H and MPH.
- Fault Indicator: Alerts to system errors.
- Walking Mode: Provides low-speed assistance for walking alongside the bike.
- Error Warning: Displays specific error codes.
- NFC Functionality: For models equipped with NFC, this allows for quick pairing or specific functions via an NFC card.
Changing Speed Settings (P08 Parameter):
To adjust the speed limit or maximum speed setting:
- Enter Menu: Long press the '+' and '-' keys simultaneously to enter the display menu.
- Navigate to P08: Short press the power button to cycle through menu parameters until you reach 'P08'.
- Adjust Speed: Use the '+' key to set your desired speed value.
- Save & Exit: Long press the '+' and '-' keys simultaneously again to save the changes and exit the menu.
Note: The display's speed setting can only override the speed limit if the limitation is imposed by the display itself. If your controller has a hardwired speed limit, this setting will not bypass it.
Bluetooth Connectivity (Specific Models H8, M5C-2):
Some F4 display models, such as H8 and M5C-2, support Bluetooth connection to third-party cycling applications. This allows for enhanced data tracking and control via your smartphone (compatible with both Apple and Android systems). Refer to your specific model's documentation or contact support for application compatibility details.

Maintenance
Waterproof Rating:
The Mcezdy F4 E-bike Display features an IP67 grade waterproof rating, providing protection against dust ingress and immersion in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes. This ensures durability in various weather conditions.

Cleaning:
To clean the display, use a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the screen or casing. Ensure the USB charging port cover is securely closed before cleaning or riding in wet conditions.
Storage:
When not in use for extended periods, store the display in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
Troubleshooting
E10 Error Code:
If the display shows an "E10" error code, it typically indicates a communication issue. Possible causes and solutions:
- Protocol Mismatch: The communication protocol of the display (UART2) does not match that of your controller. Verify compatibility as described in the "Compatibility and Important Notes" section.
- Component Malfunction: One of the e-bike's components (booster, rotary knob, or motor) may be faulty or short-circuited. This can prevent the controller from functioning correctly, leading to communication failure with the display. Inspect these components for damage or loose connections.
Speed Limit Issues:
If you are unable to change the speed limit or achieve desired speeds:
- Determine if the speed limit is imposed by the display or the controller.
- If the controller limits the speed, adjusting the display's P08 parameter will not remove this limitation.
- Some specialized versions of the display may support a fast speed limit of 25 km/h, while regular versions do not.
General Communication Issues:
- Ensure all wiring connections are secure and correctly seated.
- Check for any visible damage to cables or connectors.
- Confirm that the display is receiving power.
