Setup & Installation
1. Battery Installation
The battery is typically pre-installed or easily slides into the compartment on the back of the radio. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
2. Antenna Connection
Screw the provided antenna clockwise onto the SMA-Female connector at the top of the radio until it is finger-tight. Do not overtighten. For optimal performance, especially for shortwave reception, consider using a dedicated SMA-Male shortwave antenna.

Figure 3: Antenna Connection Point
Important Note on Antennas: The original antenna is designed for FM/136-174/400-470MHz. For frequencies outside this range (e.g., 27MHz CB or 50MHz), a specialized antenna compatible with that specific frequency range must be purchased and used separately to ensure proper operation and prevent damage.

3. Charging the Battery
Connect the Type-C charging cable to the radio's Type-C port and the other end to a compatible USB power source (wall adapter, car charger, computer, or power bank). The charging indicator will show the charging status.

4. Bluetooth Phone Programming (For Bluetooth Version Only)
This feature allows for convenient wireless programming of your radio via a smartphone app.
- Download the programming app by scanning the QR codes provided below for iOS or Android.
- Ensure your walkie talkie is powered on and Bluetooth is enabled on your phone.
- Open the app, connect to the walkie talkie via Bluetooth (usually named "walkie-talkie").
- Select the model "BJ-8300" within the app.
- Read the current data from the radio.
- Modify the desired channel information, frequencies, or other settings in the app.
- Write the modified data back to the radio.

Operating Instructions
1. Power On/Off and Volume Control
To power on the radio, rotate the top-right knob clockwise. Continue rotating to adjust the volume. To power off, rotate counter-clockwise until it clicks.
2. Super Mode Activation/Deactivation
The radio comes with a "Super Mode" enabled by default, which expands the frequency range. If local regulations require restricted frequencies, you can disable this mode.
- To Turn On Super Mode: While the radio is off, press and hold the PTT key and the "8" key, then turn on the radio. The display will show "SUPER MODE".
- To Turn Off Super Mode (Factory Mode): While the radio is off, press and hold the PTT key and the "EXIT" key, then turn on the radio. The display will show "FACTORY".

5. Scanning Modes
The radio supports different scanning modes to find active frequencies:
- Time Operation Mode (TO): Scans for a set duration on each channel.
- Carrier Operating Mode (CO): Stops scanning when a carrier signal is detected.
- Search Operation Mode (SE): Continuously scans until a signal is found.
6. Wireless Copy Frequency
This feature allows you to quickly copy frequencies from another compatible device without needing a computer. This simplifies setup and reduces manual entry errors.
