1. Introduction

The NJTY T3 digital multimeter is a portable smart meter designed for intelligent identification of various electrical parameters. It can measure DC voltage, AC voltage, resistance, and features buzzer on/off, Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) detection, and Live Wire detection. Equipped with safety features like buzzer alerts, NCV indicators, and data hold, it ensures accurate and safe electrical testing. Its powerful functions allow both ordinary users and seasoned professionals to easily measure various electrical parameters without requiring extensive professional electrical knowledge. The device complies with 600V CATII safety standards and IEC61010 pollution class 2.

2. Setup

Before first use, ensure the multimeter is fully charged. The NJTY T3 features a built-in 3.7V rechargeable lithium battery and comes with a Type-C charging cable.

2.1 Charging the Multimeter

Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the charging port on the side of the multimeter and to a compatible USB power source (e.g., a laptop, wall adapter). The device will indicate when charging is complete.

2.2 Test Lead Preparation

The multimeter comes with integrated test leads. For general measurements, the leads are ready for use. For deep probing into outlets or specific terminals, remove the protective caps from the test lead tips.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Power On/Off

To power on the multimeter, simply hold the power button located on the side. The device will automatically turn on and enter 'Auto' mode. To power off, hold the power button again.

3.2 Automatic Function Scan (Auto-Ranging)

The NJTY T3 multimeter features an intelligent 'Auto' mode. It automatically detects the type of measurement (AC/DC voltage, resistance) and selects the optimal range for the highest resolution. This eliminates the need for manual range selection, making it user-friendly for all skill levels.

3.3 Display and Readability

The multimeter is equipped with a vivid 3.19-inch Color HD LCD Display, providing an enhanced reading experience. Measurements are clearly visible even in bright sunlight or low-light conditions.

3.4 Measurement Functions

The NJTY T3 offers a variety of measurement capabilities:

3.5 Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) Detection

To use the NCV function, press the NCV button on the side of the multimeter. Hold the NCV sensor at the top of the device near the wire or outlet you wish to test. The multimeter will beep and indicate voltage presence without direct contact. This is useful for quickly checking for live wires or voltage in cables without probing.

3.6 Live Wire Identification

The multimeter can identify live wires. When testing an outlet or wire, the display will show 'LIVE' and a red indicator light will illuminate if a live wire is detected.

3.7 Flashlight Function

The multimeter includes a convenient flashlight located at the top. This feature helps illuminate the detection position in dark environments, making readings clearly visible. To activate the flashlight, press and hold the 'HOLD/Flashlight' button on the side.

4. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your NJTY T3 Multimeter, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Automatic Shutdown: The multimeter features an automatic shut-off after 15 minutes of inactivity to conserve power and extend battery life.
  • Battery Indicator: A low battery indicator will alert you when the battery voltage falls below the normal operating level, prompting you to recharge the device.
  • Overload Protection: The device has built-in explosion-proof ceramic fuse and overload protection in all ranges, along with an intelligent anti-burn design, to protect the multimeter and extend its service life.
  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the multimeter. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the multimeter in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your NJTY T3 Multimeter, consider the following common troubleshooting steps:

  • No Power/Display: Ensure the multimeter is fully charged. If the battery is low, recharge it using the provided Type-C cable.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Double-check that the test leads are securely connected. Ensure you are using the correct measurement function for the parameter you are testing.
  • NCV Not Responding: Make sure you are pressing the NCV button and holding the sensor close enough to the voltage source.
  • Device Not Responding: Try turning the device off and on again. If the issue persists, allow the battery to fully discharge and then recharge it.
