5. Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to install your BIKEVEE GPS Bike Computer on your bicycle:

  1. Prepare the Mount: Insert the rubber gasket into the base of the bike mount.
  2. Attach to Handlebar/Stem: Place the rubber ring fixed base onto your bicycle's handlebar or stem. Secure it using the provided screws and an Allen key. Ensure it is firmly attached and does not rotate freely.
  3. Mount Fixation: Confirm the base is securely fixed.
  4. Insert Bike Computer: Slide the BIKEVEE GPS Bike Computer into the base.
  5. Rotate to Lock: Rotate the bike computer clockwise until it clicks into place, securing it in the appropriate direction.
  6. Complete Installation: The installation is now complete.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press and hold the power button (usually the leftmost button) for a few seconds until the screen illuminates.
  • Power Off: Press and hold the power button until the device powers down. The device also features automatic sleep and auto-pause functions to conserve battery.

6.2 GPS Functionality

The BIKEVEE computer utilizes a 5-satellite GPS system (GPS, BDS, GLONASS, Galileo, QZSS) for high accuracy. Ensure you are in an open area for initial satellite acquisition. The device will automatically detect and track your position, speed, and other metrics.

6.3 Display and Data Fields

The 2.4-inch FSTN segment display shows various cycling data. You can typically cycle through different data screens using the navigation buttons (rightmost buttons).

6.4 Charging the Device

The device is equipped with a 650mAh rechargeable battery, providing up to 28 hours of battery life. Charge the device using the provided Type-C USB cable.

  • Connect the Type-C end of the cable to the charging port on the device.
  • Connect the USB-A end to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
  • During charging, the indicator light will flash. Once fully charged, the indicator light will remain on.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: Store the device in a cool, dry place when not in use. Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
  • Water Resistance: The device is IPX7 waterproof, meaning it can withstand splashes and rain. However, it is not designed for submersion. Ensure the charging port cover is securely closed to maintain water resistance.
  • Battery Care: For optimal battery longevity, avoid fully discharging the battery frequently. Charge it regularly, especially if storing for extended periods.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Device won't turn on: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect to a power source using the Type-C cable and try again.
  • No GPS signal: Move to an open area away from tall buildings or dense foliage. Allow a few minutes for the device to acquire satellites.
  • Inaccurate speed/distance: Ensure the device has a clear view of the sky for optimal GPS reception. If using a basic model without GPS, ensure wheel circumference settings are correct (if applicable).
  • Screen is dim or unreadable: Check the backlight settings. Ensure the device is not in direct, harsh sunlight which can make LCD screens harder to read.
  • Device unresponsive: Try a soft reset by pressing and holding the power button for an extended period (e.g., 10-15 seconds) until it restarts or powers off.
