- Apply thermal paste to the CPU and install the CPU cooler according to its manufacturer's instructions.

4.2. Memory (RAM) Installation
- Locate the two DDR4 DIMM slots.
- Open the clips at both ends of the memory slot.
- Align the notch on the DDR4 memory module with the key in the DIMM slot.
- Insert the memory module firmly into the slot until the clips snap into place. Ensure both clips are closed.
- For dual-channel operation, install memory modules in both slots.

4.3. Storage Device Installation
4.3.1. SATA Drives
- Locate the four SATA 3.0 6Gbps ports.
- Connect one end of the provided SATA data cable to a SATA port on the motherboard and the other end to your SATA hard drive or SSD.
- Connect a SATA power cable from your power supply unit (PSU) to the SATA drive.

4.3.2. M.2 NVMe SSD
- Locate the M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe X4 2.0 slot.
- Insert the M.2 SSD into the slot at a 30-degree angle.
- Gently push down the SSD and secure it with the provided screw.

4.4. Expansion Card Installation
- Locate the PCI Express 3.0 x16 slot (for graphics cards) and the PCI Express 2.0 x1 slot.
- Remove the corresponding slot cover from your PC case.
- Align the expansion card with the slot and press down firmly until it is seated correctly.
- Secure the card with a screw to the PC case.
4.5. Connecting Power Supply
- Connect the 24-pin ATX power connector from your PSU to the main power socket on the motherboard.
- Connect the 8-pin CPU power connector from your PSU to the CPU power socket near the CPU.
4.6. Connecting Front Panel and Peripherals
Refer to the detailed diagram below for connecting front panel headers (Power LED, HDD LED, Power Switch, Reset Switch, Front USB, Front Audio) and rear I/O ports.

- Rear I/O Ports: Connect your monitor(s) to the VGA, HDMI, or DisplayPort outputs. Connect USB devices (keyboard, mouse, etc.) to the USB 2.0 or USB 3.0 ports. Connect your network cable to the RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet port. Use the PS/2 ports for older keyboards/mice if needed.
- Front Panel Headers: Carefully connect the small cables from your PC case (Power LED, HDD LED, Power SW, Reset SW) to the corresponding pins on the motherboard's front panel header. Ensure correct polarity for LEDs. Connect front USB and audio cables to their respective headers.
- Fan Headers: Connect your CPU fan to the CPU_FAN header and case fans to the SYS_FAN headers.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1. Initial Boot-up and BIOS Setup
- After assembling all components, connect your monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
- Plug in the power cord and turn on your power supply.
- Press the power button on your PC case.
- During the boot process, repeatedly press the 'DEL' key (or 'F2' depending on BIOS version) to enter the AMI UEFI BIOS setup utility.
- In the BIOS, you can configure boot order, system time, and other hardware settings. Save changes and exit to continue booting.
5.2. Operating System Installation
The motherboard supports Windows 7, Windows 10, and Windows 11. Prepare a bootable USB drive with your desired operating system and follow the on-screen instructions for installation.
5.3. Dual Screen Asynchronous Output
The H311-VHD4 motherboard supports connecting multiple displays simultaneously using its VGA, HDMI 2.0, and DisplayPort 1.2 outputs. This allows for extended desktop or mirrored display configurations without the need for a dedicated graphics card.

6. Maintenance
6.1. General Cleaning
Regularly clean your PC case and motherboard to prevent dust buildup, which can lead to overheating and component failure. Use compressed air to remove dust from fans, heatsinks, and other components. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
6.2. BIOS Updates
Periodically check the HUANANZHI official website for BIOS updates. BIOS updates can improve system stability, add support for new hardware, or fix bugs. Follow the instructions provided with the BIOS update carefully to avoid damaging the motherboard.
6.3. CMOS Battery
The motherboard uses a small coin-cell battery (CR2032) to power the CMOS memory, which stores BIOS settings and the system clock. If your system consistently loses time or BIOS settings, the CMOS battery may need replacement. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before replacing the battery.
7. Troubleshooting
7.1. Incompatibility Issues
Due to the wide variety of computer accessories, some components (e.g., certain brands or versions of CPU, RAM, M.2 SSDs) may experience incompatibility issues with the motherboard. It is recommended to confirm compatibility with the seller or manufacturer before purchase. If incompatibility occurs, try different components or consult support.
7.2. No Display/No Boot
- Check all power connections (24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU).
- Ensure RAM modules are correctly seated in their slots. Try booting with one RAM stick at a time.
- Verify the CPU is correctly installed and the cooler is making proper contact.
- If using a dedicated graphics card, ensure it is properly seated in the PCIe x16 slot and has power connected (if required).
- Check monitor connections and ensure the monitor is set to the correct input source.
- Clear CMOS: Locate the JBAT jumper on the motherboard (refer to Figure 8 or 9), move the jumper cap to the clear position for a few seconds, then return it to the default position. Alternatively, remove the CMOS battery for 1-2 minutes and then reinsert it.
7.3. Network/Audio Not Working
- Ensure all necessary drivers are installed for your operating system. Visit the HUANANZHI official website for the latest drivers.
- Check physical connections for network cables and audio jacks.
- Verify settings in your operating system's network and sound control panels.
8. User Tips
- Always ensure proper grounding and anti-static precautions when handling the motherboard and other components.
- When installing the CPU, apply a small, pea-sized amount of thermal paste to the center of the CPU for optimal heat dissipation.
- For best memory performance, install two identical DDR4 modules to utilize dual-channel memory mode.
- Keep your operating system and drivers updated to ensure system stability and performance.
- If you encounter issues, consult the motherboard's official support resources or community forums for assistance.
