4.1 Physical Installation

The Locstar LS-C82A is designed to replace standard single-cylinder American door locks and is compatible with both left-handed and right-handed door openings. Ensure your door type matches the lock's requirements before proceeding.

1. Prepare the Door: Ensure the door is properly prepped for a single latch lock. If replacing an existing knob lock, follow standard removal procedures.
2. Install the Latch: Insert the latch into the door edge and secure it with screws.
3. Determine Door Handing: Identify if your door is left-handed or right-handed opening. The lock can be configured for either.
4. Install Front Panel: Position the front panel (with keypad and fingerprint sensor) on the exterior side of the door.
5. Install Back Panel: Position the back panel (with battery box) on the interior side of the door. Connect the necessary cables from the front panel to the back panel.

4.2 Battery Installation

4.3 App Download and Connection

2. Create an account and log in.

4.4 Initial User Programming

After connecting the lock to the app, you can program fingerprints, passwords, and IC cards.

• Adding Fingerprints: In the app, navigate to the fingerprint management section. Follow the prompts to register new fingerprints by placing your finger on the sensor multiple times.
• Adding Passwords: Generate custom or temporary passwords through the app. You can also set permanent passwords.
• Adding IC Cards: In the app, select the option to add IC cards. Present the IC card to the lock's sensor when prompted.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Unlocking Methods

• Fingerprint Unlocking: Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor on the handle. The lock will unlock if the fingerprint is recognized.
• Passcode Unlocking: Enter your registered passcode on the keypad, followed by '#'.
• IC Card Unlocking: Present your registered IC card to the card reader area on the lock.
• Mechanical Key Unlocking: In case of emergency or battery failure, use the provided mechanical key to unlock the door. The keyhole is typically located on the front panel, often concealed under a protection cap.
