Setup and Initial Winding
Your PAGANI DESIGN 1796 is an automatic mechanical watch, meaning it is powered by the motion of your wrist. It also supports manual winding. Before first use or after a period of inactivity, follow these steps:

Figure 2: Watch Crown Operations for Winding and Time Setting.
- Manual Winding: If the watch has stopped, gently turn the crown clockwise 10-15 times. Stop winding if you feel resistance, as over-winding can damage the mechanism. This will initiate the power reserve.
- Initial Power Reserve: After manual winding, put on your watch and swing your wrist back and forth for approximately 30 seconds. This helps to further build the power reserve through the automatic winding mechanism.
- Time Setting:
- Pull out the crown to the time-setting position.
- Rotate the crown to set the desired time.
- Once the time is set, push the crown back to its original, closed position. Ensure it is fully pushed in to maintain water resistance.
Operation
Automatic Winding
For continuous operation, wear your watch for at least 10 hours a day. The natural motion of your wrist will keep the watch wound. If the watch is not worn for an extended period, it may stop or run slowly due to insufficient power reserve. In such cases, manually wind the watch as described in the 'Setup' section.
Luminous Display

Figure 3: Luminous Dial in Low Light.
The watch features a luminous display on its hands and markers, allowing for readability in low-light conditions. The luminosity is charged by exposure to light.
Hollow (Skeleton) Dial
The watch's design incorporates a hollow or skeletonized section on the dial, providing a view of the intricate mechanical movement, including the tourbillon. This is a design feature and does not require any specific operation.

Care and Maintenance
Water Resistance (10 ATM / 100 Meters)
Your watch is designed to be water-resistant up to 10 ATM (100 meters). This means it can withstand:
- Hand washing
- Sweat
- Rain
- Cold showers
- Swimming
Important Water Resistance Guidelines:
- Do NOT operate the crown or push buttons while the watch is underwater.
- Ensure the crown head is fully tightened/pushed in before any contact with water.
- The leather strap is NOT recommended to touch water frequently, as prolonged exposure can damage the material.
- The watch does NOT support hot water exposure (e.g., hot showers, saunas) or deep diving.
General Care
- Clean your watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and dirt.
- Avoid exposing the watch to extreme temperatures, direct sunlight for prolonged periods, or strong magnetic fields.
- Protect your watch from impacts and shocks. Remove your watch when doing hard labor or extreme activities that could affect the delicate mechanical mechanism.
- Store your watch in its original box or a soft pouch when not in use to prevent scratches.
Troubleshooting
Watch Stops or Runs Slowly
If your self-winding mechanical watch stops overnight or appears to be running slowly, it does not necessarily indicate a malfunction or defect. This usually means there has been insufficient wrist action (kinetic energy) while wearing the watch.
- Solution: Manually wind the watch by turning the crown clockwise 10-15 times. Then, wear the watch for at least 10 hours a day to ensure the automatic winding mechanism can maintain the power reserve. If the watch is not worn daily, consider manually winding it every couple of days.
Inaccurate Time Keeping
While mechanical watches are known for their precision, slight variations in timekeeping are normal. However, if you notice significant inaccuracies:
- Check Winding: Ensure the watch is adequately wound (refer to 'Setup and Initial Winding'). An under-wound watch can lose time.
- Avoid Shocks: Strong impacts or vibrations can affect the movement.
- Magnetic Fields: Exposure to strong magnetic fields (e.g., from speakers, certain electronics) can magnetize the watch's movement, leading to inaccuracy. If you suspect this, professional demagnetization may be required.
User Tips
- For the first week after purchase, it is recommended to manually wind your watch every night before removing it to establish a consistent power reserve.
- Wear your watch daily or every couple of days to keep it running accurately and prevent it from stopping.
- Always ensure the crown is fully pushed in after setting the time to maintain the watch's water resistance.
- While the watch is water-resistant, avoid unnecessary exposure of the leather strap to water to prolong its life.
