1. Introduction

Congratulations on your purchase of the JX815 2.4G RC Drone! This high-performance quadcopter is equipped with an 8K HD dual camera, advanced obstacle avoidance system, and optical flow hover technology for stable and exciting flights. This manual will guide you through the setup, operation, and maintenance of your new drone to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

2. Safety Guidelines

  • Age Restriction: Not suitable for children under 36 months. Recommended for ages 6-14+ years. Adult supervision is advised for younger users.
  • Flight Environment: Fly in open, clear areas away from people, animals, buildings, and power lines. Avoid flying in strong winds or adverse weather conditions.
  • Pre-Flight Check: Always ensure the drone and remote control batteries are fully charged and propellers are securely attached and undamaged before each flight.
  • Obstacle Avoidance: While the drone features an obstacle avoidance system, always maintain visual line of sight and be prepared to take manual control to prevent collisions.
  • Battery Safety: Use only the provided charging cable and follow charging instructions carefully. Do not overcharge or puncture batteries.

4. Setup

4.1. Drone Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the drone.
  2. Insert the 3.7V 900mAh lithium battery into the compartment, ensuring it clicks securely into place.

4.2. Remote Control Battery Installation

The remote control requires 3*AA batteries (not included). Open the battery compartment on the back of the remote control and insert the batteries, observing correct polarity.

4.3. Propeller Guards and Landing Gear Installation

  1. Attach the four propeller protective covers to the drone's arms to protect the propellers during flight.
  2. Install the two landing gears to the underside of the drone for stable takeoff and landing.

4.4. Remote Control Button Assembly

Note: The two small buttons on the remote control may need to be installed by yourself. Refer to the remote control diagram for their correct placement.

4.5. Charging the Drone Battery

Connect the drone battery to the charging cable and plug it into a suitable USB power source. The charging time is approximately 120 to 150 minutes.

5. Operation

5.1. Basic Flight Controls

Refer to the remote control diagram (Figure 4.2) for button layout and functions:

  • Power Control (Left Stick): Push up/down to control altitude.
  • Directional Control (Right Stick): Move left/right/forward/backward to control flight direction.
  • One-Click Takeoff: Press the designated button for automatic takeoff.
  • One-Click Landing: Press the designated button for automatic landing.
  • Emergency Stop: Long press the emergency stop button to immediately halt drone operation.

5.2. Advanced Flight Features

  • Optical Flow Hover: The drone automatically maintains a stable hover in real-time, simplifying altitude control.

7. Maintenance

  • Battery Care: Always fully charge the drone battery before use. Store batteries in a cool, dry place when not in use. Do not leave batteries charging unattended.

  • Propeller Inspection: Regularly check propellers for any signs of damage (cracks, bends). Replace damaged propellers immediately using the provided spare blades and screwdriver.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the drone and its accessories in the provided storage bag to protect them from dust and damage.

8. Troubleshooting

Drone does not respond or take off:
Ensure both the drone and remote control are powered on and paired. Check if the drone battery is fully charged and correctly installed. Verify propellers are not obstructed.
Unstable flight or drift:
Perform a gyroscope calibration (refer to APP instructions). Ensure you are flying in calm conditions, as strong winds can affect stability. Check for damaged propellers.
Poor camera quality or no image transmission:
Ensure your smartphone is correctly connected to the drone's Wi-Fi network. Check for sufficient lighting. Clean the camera lenses. Restart the drone, remote control, and APP.
Short flight time:
Ensure the battery is fully charged. Flight time can be affected by aggressive flying, wind conditions, and battery age. Consider purchasing additional batteries for longer flight sessions.
Obstacle avoidance not working:
Ensure the obstacle avoidance system is activated. Note that the 'Black' version of the drone does not include obstacle avoidance functionality. Ensure sensors are clean and unobstructed.
