5. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps to properly install your JONSBO ZA Series fan:
Prepare Your System: Power off your computer and unplug it from the power source. Open your PC case to access the fan mounting locations.
Determine Fan Orientation: The ZA series fans come in 'Forward' (B) and 'Reverse' (BR) blade configurations, affecting airflow direction. Choose the appropriate fan for your desired airflow (intake or exhaust).

Figure 2: Fan Airflow Direction (Positive Light Effect) Mount the Fan: Position the fan(s) in your desired location (e.g., case, radiator). Use the provided mounting screws to secure the fan(s) firmly. The integrated fan grille lighting effect is designed for simplified installation with 4 screws.

Figure 4: Fan Installed in PC Case Connect the Wiring: The ZA series fans feature simplified wiring with a single line connection to the motherboard. Connect the 4-pin PWM cable to an available fan header on your motherboard for fan speed control. Connect the 3-pin ARGB (Addressable RGB) cable to a compatible 5V ARGB header on your motherboard or an ARGB controller.

Figure 5: Simplified Wiring Connection Important Note: ZA/ZB-360 fans require your motherboard or controller to support at least 68 LED chips (some motherboards support adjusting the number of LED chips) for proper ARGB functionality.
Cable Management: Route the cables neatly to ensure good airflow and a clean build. The single-line connection design aids in easier cable management.
Final Check: Double-check all connections before closing your PC case and powering on your system.
6. Operating Instructions
Power On: After successful installation, power on your computer. The fans should start spinning, and the ARGB lighting should illuminate.
Fan Speed Control (PWM): The 4-pin PWM connector allows your motherboard to dynamically control the fan speed based on CPU temperature or other system parameters. You can usually configure fan curves through your motherboard's BIOS/UEFI settings or dedicated software.
ARGB Lighting Control: The 3-pin 5V ARGB connector enables synchronized, colorful lighting effects. To control the lighting:
- Motherboard Software: If your motherboard has a compatible 5V ARGB header, you can use the motherboard manufacturer's RGB software (e.g., ASUS Aura Sync, MSI Mystic Light, Gigabyte RGB Fusion, ASRock Polychrome Sync) to customize lighting patterns, colors, and synchronization with other ARGB components.
- ARGB Controller: If your motherboard lacks a 5V ARGB header, you will need an external ARGB controller (not included) to manage the lighting effects.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure optimal performance and longevity of your JONSBO ZA Series fan:
- Cleaning: Periodically clean the fan blades and frame to remove dust buildup. Use compressed air or a soft brush. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
- Inspection: Check for any loose screws or connections. Ensure cables are not obstructing fan blades.
- Avoid Lubrication: The fluid bearing design is maintenance-free and does not require additional lubrication.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your JONSBO ZA Series fan, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Fan Not Spinning:
- Check if the 4-pin PWM cable is securely connected to the motherboard fan header.
- Ensure the motherboard fan header is enabled in BIOS/UEFI settings.
- Verify that the power supply is functioning correctly.
- ARGB Lighting Not Working/Incorrect Colors:
- Ensure the 3-pin 5V ARGB cable is correctly connected to a compatible header or controller.
- Verify that your motherboard or controller supports the required number of LED chips (especially for ZA-360, which needs at least 68 LED chips).
- Check your motherboard's RGB software or external controller settings.
- Ensure the 5V ARGB header is not confused with a 12V RGB header, as this can damage the LEDs.
- Excessive Noise:
- Check for any obstructions (cables, debris) hitting the fan blades.
- Ensure the fan is securely mounted and not vibrating against the case.
- Dust buildup can increase noise; clean the fan thoroughly.
- Poor Cooling Performance:
- Verify the fan's airflow direction is appropriate for its mounting location (intake vs. exhaust).
- Ensure fan speed is set correctly in BIOS/software.
- Clean any dust from the fan and radiator fins.
