Operating Instructions
The Vaydeer Vertical Laptop Stand is designed for use with your laptop in a vertical position, often in conjunction with an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse. This configuration is commonly referred to as "closed-clamshell mode".
Enabling Closed-Clamshell Mode
To use your laptop in the stand while connected to an external display, you may need to adjust your operating system's power settings to prevent the laptop from sleeping when the lid is closed.

Image: Detailed instructions for configuring closed-clamshell mode on both macOS and Windows 10.
For macOS (MacBook):
- Connect your MacBook to a power adapter, external display, and external keyboard/mouse.
- Click the battery icon in the upper right corner of the desktop.
- Select "Open Energy Saver Preferences" (or "Battery" settings on newer macOS versions).
- In the "Energy Saver" (or "Power Adapter") window, ensure the option "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off" is checked. This allows your MacBook to remain active with the lid closed when connected to external peripherals and power.
- Close the MacBook lid and place it in the vertical stand. The external display should now be active.
For Windows 10:
Note: It is recommended to use closed-clamshell mode while your laptop is charging.
- Connect your Windows 10 laptop to a power adapter, external display, and external keyboard/mouse.
- Click the battery icon in the lower right corner of the desktop.
- Select "Power Options".
- In the "Power Options" window, select "Choose what closing the lid does".
- Under the "When I close the lid" option, for both "On battery" and "Plugged in", select "Do nothing".
- Click "Save changes".
- Close the laptop lid and place it in the vertical stand. The external display should now be active.

Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Wipe the stand with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these may damage the finish or silicone pads.
- Silicone Pads: Periodically check the silicone pads for any wear or damage. Ensure they are free of dust or debris to maintain optimal grip and protection.
- Storage: Store the stand in a cool, dry place when not in use.
Troubleshooting
- Device feels unstable in the stand:
- Ensure the adjustable width is set correctly for your device's thickness. The fit should be snug but not overly tight. Check that the stand is placed on a flat, stable surface.
- Laptop not staying awake in closed-clamshell mode:
- Refer to the "Enabling Closed-Clamshell Mode" section under Operating Instructions for specific macOS and Windows settings. Ensure your laptop is connected to power and an external display/peripherals.
- Scratches on device:
- The stand is designed with silicone protection. Ensure the silicone pads are intact and clean. Avoid forcing devices into the stand if the width is too narrow.
