2. Package Contents
Before proceeding with the setup, please ensure all items listed below are present in your package:

3. Setup Guide
3.1 Initial Setup
- Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the DC IN port on the Mini PC and then into a power outlet.
- Connect Display: Use the provided HDMI cable or a DisplayPort cable to connect your monitor to the HDMI 2.1 or DP 1.4 port on the Mini PC. The device supports up to 4 screens simultaneously with 8K resolution.
- Connect Peripherals: Connect your keyboard, mouse, and other USB devices to the available USB ports (USB 3.2 Gen2, USB 2.0, USB 4.0).
- Network Connection: For a wired connection, plug an Ethernet cable into one of the Dual 2.5G LAN ports. For wireless, ensure your WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 are enabled on the device and connect to your network/devices.
- Power On: Press the power button located on the front of the Mini PC.
3.2 VESA Mount Installation
The GMKtec K12 Mini PC can be mounted to the back of a compatible monitor using the included VESA mount and screws. This saves desk space and provides a clean setup.

3.3 Storage and Memory Installation (for NO RAM NO SSD NO OS models)
If you purchased the "NO RAM NO SSD NO OS" option, you must install your own memory module and hard drive, and install/activate the operating system yourself. An activation code is not provided.
The Mini PC features a disassembled design for easy upgrades. It supports:
- SSD: Three M.2 2280 SSD slots (PCIe 4.0), with a maximum capacity of 8TB per slot (total max 24TB).
- RAM: Dual-channel SO-DIMM DDR5 5600MHz slots, with a maximum capacity of 64GB per slot (total max 128GB).

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Power On/Off
- Power On: Press the power button on the front panel.
- Power Off: Use the operating system's shutdown function. Alternatively, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds to force a shutdown (not recommended for regular use).

You can switch between these modes using the Fan Color Mode Toggle Button, typically located on the side or front panel (refer to Figure 4.1).

6. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the Mini PC and a working power outlet. Try a different outlet.
- No Display: Check that the HDMI/DisplayPort cable is firmly connected to both the Mini PC and the monitor. Ensure the monitor is powered on and set to the correct input source.
- Performance Issues: Verify that the Mini PC is set to the appropriate performance mode (see Section 4.4). Ensure adequate ventilation and clean any dust from the cooling vents. Close unnecessary background applications.
- Network Connectivity Problems: For wired connections, check the Ethernet cable and router. For wireless, ensure WiFi is enabled and you are connected to the correct network. Restart your router/modem.
- OCuLink Device Not Detected: Remember that the OCuLink port does not support hot-plugging. Ensure the Mini PC is powered off before connecting or disconnecting any OCuLink device.
- Peripheral Not Working: Try connecting the peripheral to a different USB port. Ensure drivers are installed if required by the peripheral.
