1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the TecTake® CD/DVD Storage Shelf. This modern and versatile storage unit is designed to help you organize your media collection efficiently. With 27 height-adjustable compartments, it offers ample space for up to 1080 CDs, DVDs, or books. Its robust MDF construction and anti-tip feature ensure stability and durability. Please read this manual carefully before assembly and use to ensure safe and proper operation.

2. Safety Instructions

WARNING: Failure to follow these safety instructions could result in injury or damage to the product.

  • Always follow the assembly instructions carefully.
  • Ensure all fasteners are securely tightened before use.
  • Do not overload the shelves. Each compartment has a maximum load capacity of 3 kg, with a total maximum load of 81 kg for the entire unit.
  • Use the provided anti-tip hardware to secure the shelf to a wall, especially in households with children or pets, to prevent accidental tipping.
  • Keep small parts and packaging materials away from children to avoid choking hazards.
  • Place the shelf on a flat, stable surface.
  • Do not climb on or hang from the shelf.

5. Assembly Instructions

Assembly is required for this product. Please follow these steps carefully. It is recommended to have two people for assembly.

Tools Required (Not Included):

  • Phillips head screwdriver
  • Hammer (for dowels and back panel nails)
  • Drill (for wall mounting anti-tip kit, if applicable)
  • Level

Step-by-Step Assembly:

  1. Unpack and Identify Parts: Carefully unpack all components and hardware. Compare them with the parts list (usually found in the included paper manual) to ensure everything is present and undamaged.
  2. Assemble the Base and Top Panels: Attach the side panels to the base and top panels using the provided screws and dowels. Ensure they are aligned correctly and tightened securely.
  3. Insert Fixed Shelves: Identify any fixed shelves and secure them into place according to the design.
  4. Install Back Panel: Carefully align and attach the thin back panel to the rear of the shelf unit using small nails or screws. Ensure the unit is square before securing the back panel.
  5. Install Adjustable Shelf Pins: Insert the small metal pins into the desired holes for your adjustable shelves. The shelves can be placed at various heights to accommodate different media sizes.
  6. Place Adjustable Shelves: Carefully place the adjustable shelves onto the pins.
  7. Attach Anti-Tip Hardware: For safety, attach the anti-tip hardware to the top rear of the shelf and secure it to a wall stud or using appropriate wall anchors. This is crucial to prevent the shelf from tipping over.

6. Usage

Loading the Shelf:

  • Distribute the weight evenly across the shelves to maintain stability.
  • Place heavier items on lower shelves.
  • Do not exceed the maximum load capacity of 3 kg per compartment or 81 kg total.

Adjusting Shelves:

The intermediate shelves are height-adjustable. To adjust a shelf:

  1. Remove all items from the shelf you wish to adjust.
  2. Carefully lift the shelf and remove the metal pins supporting it.
  3. Re-insert the pins into the desired holes at the new height. Ensure all four pins are securely in place and level.
  4. Place the shelf back onto the pins.

7. Maintenance and Care

  • Cleaning: Wipe surfaces with a damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the finish.
  • Dusting: Regularly dust the shelf with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all screws and fasteners to ensure they remain tight. Re-tighten if necessary.
  • Avoid Moisture: Keep the shelf away from excessive moisture or direct sunlight to prevent warping or discoloration.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Shelf is wobbly/unstable. Loose fasteners; uneven floor; not secured to wall. Check and tighten all screws. Ensure the shelf is on a level surface. Secure the shelf to the wall using the anti-tip hardware.
Shelves do not fit or are uneven. Incorrect pin placement; assembly error. Ensure shelf pins are inserted into corresponding holes on both sides and are level. Re-check assembly steps for any errors.
