3.2. MaAnt M093B (USB Type-C Model)

  1. Connect a standard USB Type-C cable to the device's Type-C port.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a compatible power source (e.g., USB charger, computer USB port).
  3. The device will power on automatically.

4. Operating Instructions

The MaAnt Inductance Tester utilizes electromagnetic induction for quick and accurate fault detection. Follow these steps to operate the device:

  1. Power On: Ensure the device is powered on (either by inserted batteries for M093 or USB-C connection for M093B).
  2. Position Probes: Gently place the two probes at the tip of the tester onto the inductor you wish to test on the electronic motherboard.
  3. Observe Indicator Light:
    • If the green light is on during the detection, it indicates that the inductance is normal and the inductor is working properly.
    • If the detection light is not on, it indicates abnormal operation or damage to the inductor.
  4. Repeat: Move to other inductors as needed to identify all faulty components.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Keep the device clean and free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Storage: Store the inductance tester in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Battery Replacement (M093): If the device does not power on or the indicator light is dim, replace the button batteries with new ones of the correct type and voltage.
  • Probe Care: Ensure the probes are clean and free from corrosion or damage for accurate readings.

6. Troubleshooting

Problem: Device does not power on / Indicator light does not illuminate.
Solution for M093: Check if the button batteries are inserted correctly and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
Solution for M093B: Ensure the USB Type-C cable is securely connected to both the device and a working power source.
Problem: Green light does not turn on when testing a known good inductor.
Solution: Ensure the probes are making good contact with the inductor. The device might be faulty; contact support if the issue persists.
Problem: Inconsistent readings.
Solution: Clean the probes and ensure they are not damaged. Ensure stable contact with the inductor. Test on a known good inductor to verify device functionality.
