Mount the rearview camera at the rear of your vehicle, typically above the license plate or on the rear window. Route the rearview camera cable to the main DVR unit and connect it. Ensure the cable is securely tucked away to avoid interference with vehicle operation.

Note on Cable Length:

For larger vehicles such as motorhomes (e.g., 7-meter length), the standard rearview camera cable may not be sufficient. Please measure your required cable length before installation and acquire an extension if necessary.

4. Inserting the TF Card

Insert a TF (microSD) card (up to 128GB, not included) into the designated slot on the DVR unit. The device requires a storage card for recording video.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the screen and camera lenses. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Storage: If storing the device for an extended period, remove the TF card and store the dash cam in a cool, dry place.
  • TF Card Care: Periodically format the TF card within the device to maintain optimal recording performance and prevent data corruption. Back up any important recordings before formatting.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions:

  • Device not powering on:
    • Ensure the car charger is securely connected to both the DVR and the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket.
    • Check if the vehicle's cigarette lighter socket is receiving power.
  • Recording not starting:
    • Verify that a TF card is inserted correctly and has sufficient free space.
    • Format the TF card if it's a new card or if recording issues persist.
  • Rear camera not displaying:
    • Check the connection of the rearview camera cable to the main DVR unit.
    • Ensure the rearview camera itself is not damaged or obstructed.
  • Screen freezing or unresponsive:
    • Try restarting the device by disconnecting and reconnecting the power.
    • If the issue persists, a factory reset (if available in settings) might be necessary.

User Tips

  • Cable Length for Larger Vehicles: If installing in a larger vehicle like a motorhome, consider purchasing an extended rearview camera cable to ensure it reaches the main DVR unit. The standard cable may be too short for vehicles exceeding typical car lengths.
  • Regular TF Card Formatting: To prevent recording errors and ensure smooth operation, it is recommended to format your TF card once a month. Remember to back up any important footage first.
