3. Setup and Installation

The CF-E593AX is designed for in-wall installation, fitting into a standard 86-type panel box. It supports Power over Ethernet (POE) for simplified wiring.

3.1 POE Power Supply

The device supports 48V standard POE power supply, eliminating the need for an external power adapter. A single network cable can transmit both power and data, simplifying installation and maintenance. Ensure you use a POE power supply device, such as a POE switch, or the included POE power adapter if provided.

4. Operating Instructions

The Comfast CF-E593AX provides advanced features for optimal wireless performance.

4.1 Dual-Band Operation

The AP integrates 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz dual-band frequencies, offering a high-speed rate of 3000Mbps. It intelligently selects the optimal frequency band (5GHz for better signals) to meet the networking needs of all devices in your environment.

4.3 Automatic Radio Frequency Optimization

The AP automatically calculates the neighbor relationship between APs in the network and adjusts wireless transmission power and channel in real-time. This minimizes interference and optimizes network status for stable and efficient operation.

Figure 9: Automatic Radio Frequency Optimization for improved network status.

4.4 TWT Technology for Energy Saving

Target Wake Time (TWT) technology allows the AP to unify the scheduling of wireless terminal dormancy and data transmission time. This improves the disordered competition of multiple devices for the channel and groups wireless terminals into different TWT cycles, enhancing the battery life of connected equipment.

Comparison diagram of TWT technology (802.11ax) vs. non-TWT (802.11ac) showing ordered vs. disordered device sleep/buffer states

Figure 10: TWT Technology for Energy Saving.

4.5 OFDMA and MU-MIMO

The combination of OFDMA and MU-MIMO technologies improves the internet experience in multi-user network scenarios without interference, achieving latency as low as 10ms for a smoother network. OFDMA allows multiple simultaneous users to be served per frame of data, unlike older Wi-Fi 5 APs that serve one user at a time.

5. Maintenance

The Comfast CF-E593AX supports remote management when cooperating with a COMFAST AC gateway. This feature simplifies maintenance, reduces network complexity, and lowers operation and maintenance costs.

6. Troubleshooting

  • **No Power/Indicator Light Off**:
    • Ensure the network cable is securely connected to the WAN port.
    • Verify that the POE power source (POE switch or adapter) is functioning correctly and providing 48V power.
  • **No Internet Access**:
    • Check the connection from the AP's WAN port to your router/network.
    • Confirm that your main router has internet connectivity.
    • If using an AC gateway, ensure it is properly configured and communicating with the AP.
  • **Poor Wi-Fi Signal/Slow Speed**:
    • Ensure the AP is installed in an optimal location, free from major obstructions.
    • The device features automatic radio frequency optimization to reduce interference. If issues persist, consider checking for external interference sources.
    • Verify that your client devices support Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) to fully utilize the AX3000 speeds.
  • **Cannot Access AP Settings**:
    • Ensure your device is connected to the AP's Wi-Fi network or via a wired connection to the LAN port.
    • Refer to the full manual or manufacturer's website for default IP address and login credentials.
  • **Resetting the Device**:
    • Locate the RESET button (usually a small pinhole). Use a paperclip to press and hold the button for approximately 5-10 seconds until the indicator lights change, then release. This will restore factory default settings.
