3. Assembly Instructions

The iScooter DX5 requires some minor assembly before its first use. Please follow these steps:

  1. Install Handlebars: Securely attach the handlebars to the steering column using the provided tools.
  2. Attach Rearview Mirrors: Screw the rearview mirrors into their designated slots on the handlebars.
  3. Mount Headlight: If not pre-installed, attach the headlight to the front of the scooter.
  4. Install Rear Shock Absorbers: Ensure the rear shock absorbers are correctly fitted and tightened.
  5. Attach Rear Fender: Secure the rear fender over the rear wheel.
  6. Install Footrests: Attach the footrests on both sides of the scooter frame.
  7. Cargo Basket (Optional): If included, attach the cargo basket to the designated area on the frame.
  8. Saddle (Optional): If removable, ensure the saddle is securely attached.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Product Overview

4.2 Starting and Locking the Scooter (NFC Keyless Ignition)

The DX5 features an NFC keyless ignition system for convenience and security.

  1. Power On: First, push the physical air switch on the battery compartment to the "ON" position.
  2. Ignition: Place your NFC smart card flat on the NFC sensor located on the display. The scooter will power on.
  3. Disengage P-Lock: To start riding, squeeze either the left or right aluminum alloy brake lever to disengage the P-mode (parking lock).
  4. Locking: When stationary, the scooter will automatically engage P-Lock. To manually lock, hold the brake or shift gear.
Instructions for NFC keyless ignition: push air switch to ON, place NFC card on sensor, auto P-Lock, hold brake to unlock.

4.3 LCD Display

The 9-inch clear full-color LCD display provides essential riding information at a glance:

4.4 Speed Modes and Adjustment

The DX5 offers four cycling modes. The EU version is factory-set to 25km/h for compliance, but the speed limit can be unlocked.

How to Adjust/Unlock Speed:

  1. Keep the throttle handle turned to the bottom when the scooter is turned off.
  2. Using an NFC card to unlock and wait 10 seconds. You will hear a "beep" sound, indicating the speed limit has been unlocked.

4.5 Braking System

The DX5 is equipped with front and rear hydraulic disc brakes for effective and responsive stopping power. The braking system includes a power cut-off feature that automatically shuts off the motor for added safety when braking.

For safe riding at night, the scooter features an integrated LED lighting system:

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your iScooter DX5.

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe down the scooter with a damp cloth. Avoid using high-pressure water jets directly on electrical components.
  • Battery Care: Charge the battery fully before first use. For optimal battery life, avoid completely draining the battery and store it in a cool, dry place. Charge every 1-2 months if not in use.
  • Tire Pressure: Check tire pressure regularly. Maintain recommended pressure for optimal performance and safety. The 15"*3.0" vacuum inflatable tires are designed for durability and puncture resistance.
  • Brake Inspection: Periodically check the front and rear hydraulic disc brakes for wear and proper function. Ensure brake levers are responsive and the power cut-off mechanism is working.
  • Fasteners: Check all bolts and fasteners regularly and tighten if necessary.
  • Water Resistance: The scooter has an IPX4 rating, meaning it is resistant to water splashes from any direction. Avoid submerging the scooter in water or riding in heavy rain.

6. Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues with your iScooter DX5, please refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:

  • Scooter not turning on: Ensure the physical air switch on the battery is in the "ON" position. Check if the battery is charged and properly connected. Try using the NFC card again.
  • Motor not engaging: Make sure the P-Lock is disengaged by squeezing a brake lever. Check for any error codes on the LCD display.
  • Reduced range/power: This could indicate a low battery charge or a degrading battery. Ensure proper charging habits. Environmental factors like temperature, terrain, and rider weight can also affect range.
