1. Introduction

The WinaPEX 268C is an ultra-high sensitivity clamp meter specifically designed for precise leakage current detection and comprehensive electrical measurements. With a minimum measurement current of AC 60μA and a high resolution of 0.01mA, it provides accurate monitoring in various complex electrical environments. This device is ideal for electricians and technicians working with grounding wires, single-phase, three-phase three-wire, and three-phase four-wire electrical systems, and for detecting leaks in motors, household appliances, and other electrical devices.

2.1 Package Contents

Before using your WinaPEX 268C Clamp Meter, please verify that all items listed below are present in the package:

2.2 Product Overview and Components

Familiarize yourself with the different parts of your clamp meter:

  • NCV Sensing Position: Used for Non-Contact Voltage detection.
  • Jaw: The clamping mechanism for measuring current without breaking the circuit. Features a 22mm jaw opening for easier measurement.
  • Trigger: Opens and closes the jaw.
  • On/Off/Function Selection Button: Powers the device on/off and cycles through measurement functions.
  • Data Retention/Backlight Adjustment Button (HOLD): Holds the current reading on the display; long press to adjust backlight brightness.

2.3 Battery Charging

The WinaPEX 268C is equipped with a built-in 3.7V lithium battery with a capacity of 750mAh, providing approximately 20 hours of continuous operation on a full charge. To charge the device:

  1. Connect the provided Type-C USB cable to the charge up port on the side of the clamp meter.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a standard USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
  3. The battery indicator on the display will show charging status.
  4. Once fully charged, disconnect the cable.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Power On/Off and Function Selection

  • Power On/Off: Press and hold the On/Off/Function Selection button to turn the device on or off.
  • Function Selection: Briefly press the On/Off/Function Selection button to cycle through different measurement modes (e.g., AC Voltage, DC Voltage, Resistance, etc.).

3.2 Intelligent Recognition

The WinaPEX 268C features intelligent recognition, automatically detecting and displaying the type of measurement (DC Voltage, AC Voltage, Buzzer, Resistance) when test leads are connected, simplifying operation.

3.3 Measurement Functions

The clamp meter supports a wide range of measurements, indicated by icons on the functional display:

  • AC/DC Voltage (V): Measure alternating and direct current voltage.
  • AC Current (A): Measure alternating current using the clamp jaw.
  • Resistance (Ω): Measure electrical resistance.
  • Frequency (Hz): Measure the frequency of an AC signal.
  • Temperature (°C/°F): Measure temperature using the thermocouple.
  • Diode Test: Check diode functionality.
  • Continuity (Beep): Test for circuit continuity.

3.4 Leakage Current Detection

The WinaPEX 268C excels in leakage current detection with a range of AC 60μA to 100A and a resolution of 0.01mA. To perform leakage current measurements:

  1. Select the leakage detection mode using the function selection button.
  2. Open the clamp jaw using the trigger.
  3. Enclose the conductor (ground wire, single-phase, three-phase three-wire, or three-phase four-wire) within the jaw. Ensure only one conductor is inside the jaw for accurate leakage measurement.
  4. Read the leakage current value on the display.

3.5 Fire Wire / Null Line Detection

The device can distinguish between fire (live) and null (neutral) lines:

3.6 Additional Features

  • Data Hold (HOLD): Press the HOLD button to freeze the current reading on the display. Press again to release.
  • Zero Function (ZERO): Use this button to zero out capacitance measurements or other functions as needed.
  • Screen Rotation: Long press the screen rotation button to rotate the display 180 degrees, allowing for easier reading in various orientations.

4. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the device with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Care: Recharge the lithium battery regularly, especially if the device will not be used for an extended period, to maintain battery health.
  • Storage: Store the clamp meter in its provided storage bag in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

5. Troubleshooting

  • No Display/Device Not Turning On: Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the Type-C cable and charge the device.
  • Inaccurate Readings: Check that the test leads are properly connected and that the correct measurement mode is selected. For current measurements, ensure only one conductor is within the clamp jaw.
  • Low Battery Indication: Recharge the device immediately when the low battery indicator appears to ensure continuous operation and prevent data loss.
  • Leakage Current Detection: The device is specifically designed for leakage current detection with high precision. If readings are unexpected, ensure proper isolation of the circuit being tested.
