- Locate the AM4 CPU socket on the motherboard.
- Lift the retention arm on the side of the socket.
- Align the golden triangle on your AMD Ryzen CPU with the triangle on the socket.
- Gently place the CPU into the socket. Do not force it.
- Lower the retention arm to secure the CPU.
- Install your CPU cooler according to its manufacturer's instructions.
5.2 Installing Memory (RAM)
- Open the clips at both ends of the DDR4 DIMM slots.
- Align the notch on the DDR4 memory module with the notch in the DIMM slot.
- Press down firmly on both ends of the memory module until the clips snap into place.
- For dual-channel performance, install memory modules in matching slots (refer to motherboard manual for specific slot pairing, usually alternating slots).
5.3 Installing M.2 NVMe SSD
- Locate the M.2 slot on the motherboard.
- Remove the M.2 standoff screw from the motherboard.
- Insert the M.2 SSD into the slot at an angle.
- Push the SSD down and secure it with the M.2 screw.
5.4 Installing Graphics Card (GPU)
- Locate the PCIe 3.0 x16 slot.
- Open the retention clip at the end of the slot.
- Align your graphics card with the slot and press down firmly until it clicks into place.
- Secure the graphics card to your PC case with screws.
5.5 Connecting Power Supply
- Connect the 24-pin ATX power cable from your PSU to the motherboard's 24-pin connector.
- Connect the 8-pin ATX power cable from your PSU to the motherboard's 8-pin CPU power connector.
- Connect SATA power cables to your storage devices.
5.6 Connecting Front Panel Headers
Connect the cables from your PC case (Power Button, Reset Button, HDD LED, Power LED, Front USB, Front Audio) to the corresponding headers on the motherboard. Refer to the motherboard layout diagram for exact locations.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Initial Boot-up
- After assembling all components, connect your monitor, keyboard, and mouse.
- Connect the power cable to your PSU and turn on the power switch on the PSU.
- Press the power button on your PC case.
- The system should power on and display the BIOS/UEFI screen or boot into your operating system installer.
6.2 BIOS/UEFI Setup
To enter the BIOS/UEFI setup, press the 'DEL' or 'F2' key repeatedly during the initial boot-up sequence. In the BIOS/UEFI, you can configure various system settings, including:
- Boot order
- CPU and Memory settings (e.g., XMP profiles for RAM)
- Fan speed control
- SATA/M.2 configuration
- Date and Time (after installing the CR2032 battery)
6.3 Driver Installation
After installing your operating system, install the necessary drivers for the motherboard's chipset, LAN, audio, and any other integrated components. These can usually be found on the included driver CD/USB or downloaded from the SOYO official website.
7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean dust from your PC case and motherboard components using compressed air. Ensure the system is powered off and unplugged before cleaning.
- BIOS Updates: Periodically check the SOYO official website for BIOS/UEFI updates. BIOS updates can improve stability, add support for new hardware, or fix bugs. Follow the instructions provided by SOYO carefully when updating the BIOS.
- CMOS Battery: If your system loses time or BIOS settings are reset after power loss, the CR2032 CMOS battery may need replacement.
8. Troubleshooting
- No Power: Check all power connections (24-pin ATX, 8-pin CPU, GPU power). Ensure PSU is switched on and connected to a working outlet.
- No Display: Ensure monitor is connected and turned on. Check graphics card installation and power. Try reseating RAM modules.
- System Instability/Crashes: This could be due to incompatible RAM, overheating, or faulty components. Check CPU and GPU temperatures. Run memory diagnostic tools.
- BIOS Resetting: Install a new CR2032 CMOS battery.
- Peripherals Not Working: Ensure drivers are installed. Try different USB ports. Check for bent pins on front panel headers.
