  • Install the 4-meter PKE antenna in the upper left-hand corner or back inner windshield inside the car.
  • Install the 2-meter PKE antenna in the middle of the front windshield inside the car.

Wiring Connections

The following outlines key wiring connections. Always consult the full wiring diagram for complete details.

Detailed wiring diagram for the Hippcron PKE system

6-Pin Connector (Start Switch)

  • Brown Wire (+): Output to Ignition 2 (power supply that interrupts during starting).
  • Yellow Wire (+): Output to Starter.
  • Blue Wire (+): Output to ACC.
  • Black Wire (-): Ground.
  • Red Wire (+12V): Power.
  • White Wire (+): Output to Ignition 1.

7-Pin Connector (Main Harness)

  • Blue (-250MA): Output to the trunk.
  • Green (+): Oil path detection.
  • Red (+): Output to the siren.
  • Black (-250MA): Unlock negative trigger output.
  • White (-250MA): Lock negative trigger output.
  • Brown (+): Foot brake input.
  • Purple (+): Foot brake input.

Additional Connections

  • Remote Engine Start: The 2nd pin port connects to the oil pump motor; the 6th pin port connects to the handbrake. The handbrake must be engaged for remote start/stop to function.
  • Car Search: The 3rd pin connects to the original car alarm siren and steering wheel switch.
  • Central Locking: For vehicles without original central locking, additional relays may be required for the host control to support negative trigger. The 4th and 5th pins are crucial for wiring central locking functions.
  • Remote Trunk Opening: The car must have a trunk motor originally for this feature to work.
  • Positive Trigger: If using a positive trigger method, relays must be added for connections like the trunk switch.
  • Steering Wheel Switch: Connect according to your vehicle's control type (negative or positive control).

Operation

Engine Start/Stop Button Operation

  1. ACC Sound: Without pressing the brake, a short press of the start button will activate the ACC sound. Another short press will turn on the dashboard, and the indicator light will flash. A third short press will turn it off.
  2. Ignition Start: Press the brake pedal, then short press the start button. The system will ignite and start the engine, and the indicator light will remain on.
  3. Engine Off: When the engine is running, press the brake pedal and short press the start button to turn off the system.
  4. Long Press Start: Whether or not the brake is pressed, a long press of the start button will ignite the engine. Release the button once the engine starts.

Remote Control Functions

Remote key button functions and durability
Figure 4: Remote key functions including Open Trunk, Remote Start/Stop, Engine Car Search, and Lock.
  • Remote Engine Start/Stop: Long press the remote start/stop button (typically the middle button with a circular arrow icon) to warm up or cool down your car for comfort. Ensure the handbrake is engaged before using this function.
  • Lock/Unlock Door Remotely: Use the dedicated lock and unlock buttons on the remote control.
  • Remote Trunk Opening: Long press the unlock button for 5 seconds to open the trunk. This feature requires the car to have an original trunk motor.
  • One Button Car Search: Short press the car search button (typically the horn icon). The siren will chirp, and the turn signals will flash. Press the button again to stop the signal.

PKE (Passive Keyless Entry) Induction Function

PKE Entry auto unlock and lock range
Figure 5: PKE Entry system automatically unlocks when you are within 2m and locks when you are over 3m from the vehicle.
  • Auto Unlock: The system will automatically unlock the car doors when you are within 2 meters of the vehicle with the remote key.
  • Auto Lock: The system will automatically lock the car doors when you move more than 3 meters away from the vehicle with the remote key.

Convenient and Safety Features

Smart Engine Stop, Auto Lock While Driving, Smart Door Lock, Anti-theft features
Figure 6: Overview of smart safety and convenience features.
  • Smart Engine Stop: If the engine is remotely started and the door is not opened or the brake is not tapped within 15 minutes, the engine will automatically shut down.
  • Auto Lock While Driving: After the engine starts, the doors will automatically lock after 15 seconds when the brake is stepped on. The doors will auto unlock when the engine is turned off.
  • Smart Door Lock: If the unlock button is pressed but the remote is not within the PKE sensing range, the door will automatically re-lock after 25 seconds.
  • Anti-theft: The system provides anti-theft protection. Even if the car's power is cut off, a thief cannot start the car if the system is armed or disarmed by Hippcron.
  • Extreme Cold Weather Engine Start: The system is designed to operate in extreme cold. Hold the start button for 3 seconds, and the system will make three start attempts to check the fuel pump for engine ignition.

Maintenance

Remote Control Battery Replacement

The remote control keys require CR2032 batteries. When the remote's range decreases or it stops responding, it's time to replace the battery. Open the remote casing (refer to Figure 4 for the key slot to open the lid) and replace the CR2032 battery, ensuring correct polarity.

General Care

  • The system is designed for normal operation between -50°C and 80°C, offering high temperature protection to prolong the service life of electronic components.
  • The remote control buttons are made of silicone and are designed to withstand over 300,000 presses. The chrome-plating and polishing ensure the keys are rust-free for their whole life.
  • Keep the control unit and sensors dry and free from excessive dust or debris.

Troubleshooting

No specific troubleshooting steps are provided in the available documentation. If you encounter issues, please:

  • Review the wiring diagram carefully to ensure all connections are correct.
  • Check the remote control batteries.
  • Consult a professional automotive electrician for diagnosis and repair.

User Tips

  • Compatibility Check: While this system is universal for 12V vehicles, specific vehicle models (e.g., Toyota Hilux) may require additional wiring considerations or professional expertise for seamless integration. Always consult a qualified installer.
  • Handbrake for Remote Start: Remember that the handbrake must be engaged for the remote engine start/stop function to operate. This is a safety feature.
  • Trunk Motor Requirement: The remote trunk opening feature will only work if your car is originally equipped with a trunk motor.
  • Central Locking: If your vehicle does not have factory central locking, you may need to install additional relays to enable the smart door lock features.
  • PKE Sensor Placement: Proper placement of the PKE antennas (as described in the Setup section) is crucial for optimal keyless entry and locking performance.
