4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

To clean the oscilloscope, use a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, a slightly damp cloth with mild detergent can be used, ensuring no liquid enters the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

4.2 Battery Care

The OS-5C uses a removable 3.7V/18650 / 2000mAh battery. While the battery is removable, it may not be included with all models. If your model includes a battery, ensure it is charged regularly, especially if the device will be stored for extended periods. Avoid extreme temperatures during charging and storage to prolong battery life.

4.3 Storage

Store the oscilloscope in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, dust, and excessive humidity. When not in use for long periods, it is advisable to remove the battery if possible.

5. Troubleshooting

This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter.

  • No Power/Display:
    - Ensure the device is fully charged or connected to a stable 5V USB power source.
    - Press and hold the ON-OFF button for a few seconds to ensure it's properly turning on.
  • No Signal Displayed:
    - Verify that the probes are correctly connected to both the oscilloscope and the circuit under test.
    - Check the signal source to ensure it is active and within the oscilloscope's measurement range.
    - Adjust the vertical (voltage) and horizontal (time) scales to properly capture the signal.
  • Incorrect or Unstable Readings:
    - Ensure probes are properly calibrated (if applicable).
    - Check for loose connections or damaged probes.
    - Verify that the AC/DC coupling setting is appropriate for the signal being measured.
    - Adjust the trigger settings to stabilize the waveform.
  • Connectivity Issues (USB/Wi-Fi):
    - For USB, ensure the cable is securely connected and the correct drivers are installed on your computer.
    - For Wi-Fi, ensure the oscilloscope's Wi-Fi module is enabled and correctly configured to connect to your network or device. Check firewall settings on your computer/mobile device.
