Setup and Installation
The CPVAN smoke detectors are pre-linked at the factory for convenience. No internet connection or app is required for basic operation. A maximum of 30 wireless smoke detectors can be networked together.
Installation Steps:
- Choose Location: Select a suitable location on a wall or ceiling, away from corners, vents, or areas with high humidity.
- Drill Holes: Use a drill to create holes for the mounting screws.
- Fix Bracket: Secure the mounting bracket to the wall or ceiling using the provided screws. The magnetic holder simplifies attachment.
- Attach Detector: Align the smoke detector with the bracket and turn it to lock it securely in place.

Interlinking Additional Detectors:
While units are pre-linked, if you need to add new detectors or re-establish links:
- Emit Signal: On the detector you wish to initiate the link from, press the Test/Silence button 4 times quickly.
- Receive Signal: On the detector(s) you wish to link, press the Test/Silence button twice quickly to receive the signal.
- Confirmation: The detectors should confirm successful interlinking, typically indicated by a specific LED flash pattern or sound.
Note: CPVAN FSI-3001 and CP-SD01 are the same product. SM11R and FSI-3001/SD01 models cannot be interconnected.

Operating Instructions
Normal Operation:
In standby mode, the smoke detector's green status light is extremely dim and blinks approximately every 300 seconds (5 minutes). This subtle flash indicates that the detector is functioning correctly without causing disturbance, especially during sleep.

Alarm Activation:
When smoke is detected, the alarm will sound loudly at over 85 dB(A) and the red LED will flash brightly. If multiple detectors are interlinked, all connected alarms will activate simultaneously, providing widespread notification throughout your home.

Test/Silence Button:
The large button on the detector serves two primary functions:
- Testing: Press and hold the button briefly to test the alarm function. The alarm should sound, and the LED should flash.
- Silencing: In case of a false alarm (e.g., from cooking fumes), press the button to temporarily silence the alarm. The detector will reset after a short period.
Maintenance
Battery:
The CPVAN smoke detector is equipped with a sealed 3V lithium battery designed to last for 10 years. This battery is non-replaceable, ensuring uninterrupted protection without the need for frequent battery changes.
Low Battery Alert:
When the battery voltage drops to 2.7 ± 0.1 V, the detector will indicate a low battery status, typically through an audible chirp or specific LED flash pattern. At this point, the detector should be replaced.
Cleaning:
Regularly clean the exterior of the smoke detector with a soft, damp cloth to prevent dust accumulation, which can interfere with its operation. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
Regular Testing:
It is recommended to test your smoke detectors monthly by pressing the Test/Silence button to ensure they are functioning correctly.
Troubleshooting
- Alarm does not sound during test: Ensure the detector is properly installed and the battery is not depleted (though it has a 10-year life, manufacturing defects can occur). If it's an older unit nearing its 10-year lifespan, consider replacement.
- False alarms: Relocate the detector away from cooking areas, bathrooms (steam), or dusty environments. Clean the detector regularly.
- Interlinked units not communicating: Re-perform the interlinking procedure as described in the Setup section. Ensure units are within the effective operating distance (up to 100m outdoors, less indoors due to obstructions).
- Constant chirping: This typically indicates a low battery. Since the battery is sealed and non-replaceable, the unit needs to be replaced.
User Tips
- Strategic Placement: Install smoke detectors on every level of your home, inside each bedroom, and outside each sleeping area.
- Avoid Obstructions: Ensure nothing blocks the smoke detector's vents, as this can impair its ability to detect smoke.
- Know Your Escape Plan: Develop and practice a fire escape plan with all household members.
- Regular Cleaning: Dust and debris can accumulate over time, affecting sensor performance. A quick wipe with a cloth can maintain optimal function.
