5. Setup Guide

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the VNA-H4 Plus and all accessories from the packaging. Verify that all components listed in Section 3 are present.
  2. Initial Charge: Before first use, connect the VNA-H4 Plus to a suitable USB power source using the provided USB Type-C cable. Allow the device to fully charge. The charging indicator will show the battery status.
  3. Power On: Locate the power button (usually on the top or side) and press it to turn on the device.
  4. SD Card Insertion (Optional): If you plan to save measurement data, insert a compatible SD card into the designated slot.
  5. Accessory Connection: Connect the appropriate SMA Male-to-Male RF cables and calibration kits (OPEN, SHORT, LOAD) to the CH0 and CH1/S21 ports as required for your specific measurement task. Use the SMA Female-to-Female adapter if needed.

6. Operating Instructions

The VNA-H4 Plus features both a resistive touch screen and a large control knob for navigation and input.

6.1 Basic Navigation

  • Touch Screen: Use the included stylus pen or your finger to tap on menu options and input values.
  • Control Knob: Rotate the knob to scroll through menus or adjust values. Press the knob to select an option or confirm an input.

6.2 Menu Structure and Functions

  2. Setting Frequency Range: In the 'STIMULUS' menu, set the desired START and STOP frequencies for your scan. You can also adjust the number of 'SWEEP POINTS' (up to 401) for finer resolution.

  5. Saving Data: To save your measurement data, navigate to the 'SD CARD' menu and select 'SAVE S1P' or 'SAVE S2P' for Touchstone files, or 'SCREENSHOT' to save an image of the display.
