The SL299 A4 Laminator Machine Set, including laminator, laminating film, paper cutter, 6mm hole puncher, and corner punch.

The SL299 laminator is perfect for various applications including home, office, advertising, and teaching.
Setup
- Operate the machine on a flat and stable surface.
- Ensure there is enough clear space at the rear of the machine for the lamination to exit the machine.
- Plug the machine's cable into a convenient 13 Amp domestic supply outlet.
Operating the Laminator
The SL299 is operated by a rocker switch, located at the right-hand side of the appliance.

Close-up of the laminator's control panel showing HOT, OFF, and COLD settings, along with READY and POWER indicator lights.
- For COLD laminating: Select the COLD setting. The green READY light will come on straight away, and COLD laminating can begin. (Please note you will need special Cold Laminating Pouches).
- For HOT laminating: Select the HOT setting. Hot laminating can begin when the green "READY" light comes on (allow approximately 2-3 minutes heat-up time). If choosing COLD laminating after you have been Hot Laminating, the machine must be allowed to cool to room temperature again.
- When the machine has reached operating temperature, you may insert the pouch (sealed edge first) squarely into the machine until it engages with the rollers. Never insert a pouch open edge first into the machine.
- The pouch will move through the machine and exit at the rear.
- During the process, the READY light may go out as heat is absorbed by the laminating pouch. This is normal.
- Turn the laminator to OFF (O) after use.
- Remove the plug from the power supply.

How to Load a Laminating Pouch
The laminating pouch is sealed along one side. Open the pouch and place the paper to be laminated centrally inside the pouch as close to the sealed edge as possible. Ensure there is an equal border all around the paper (e.g., A4 paper should have a 3mm border). The sealed edge (not the open edges) is placed into the entry slot to start the lamination process.

Laminating film sheets available in 2R, 3R, and 4R sizes.
Do not use pouches thicker than 250mic (2x125mic per side).
Maintenance
To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your laminator, regular maintenance is recommended.
- Always unplug the laminator and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- Wipe the exterior of the machine with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Periodically check the rollers for any adhesive residue. If present, gently clean with a damp cloth, ensuring no moisture enters the machine.
- Ensure the area around the entry and exit slots is free from dust and debris.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your laminator, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- Laminator not turning on: Check if the power cord is securely plugged into both the machine and the power outlet. Ensure the power switch is in the 'On' position.
- Laminator not heating up (Hot mode): Ensure the machine is set to 'HOT' mode. Allow 2-3 minutes for the machine to warm up until the green 'READY' light illuminates.
- Paper jam or misfeed: If a pouch becomes biased or jammed during lamination, use the ABS Removal Function. Turn the switch to OFF state, and then pull out the overglued film with force.
