Automatic Features

  • Automatic Sleep: The soldering iron features an inductive sleep mode, which activates after 30 minutes of inactivity to conserve energy and prolong tip life.
  • Automatic Shut-down: After a period in sleep mode, the device will automatically shut down.
  • Adaptive Power: The device intelligently adapts its power output based on the connected power supply to optimize heating performance.

7. Maintenance

  • Tip Cleaning: Regularly clean the soldering tip using a damp sponge or brass wool to remove excess solder and oxidation. This ensures efficient heat transfer and extends tip lifespan.
  • Tinning the Tip: After cleaning, always re-tin the tip with a small amount of fresh solder to prevent oxidation.
  • Storage: When not in use, ensure the soldering iron is cooled down and stored in a dry, safe place. Use the protective cap if provided.
  • General Cleaning: Wipe the body of the soldering iron with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

8. Troubleshooting

The T90C features a warning interface to indicate potential issues:

Image: Warning interface and error descriptions.

  • NO Tip: Device failed to detect soldering iron tip.
    • Ensure the soldering tip is correctly and fully inserted.
    • Check for any damage to the tip or the iron's connection point.
  • Vol low: Input voltage below 9V, heating function disabled.
    • Verify that your power supply provides at least 9V.
    • Ensure the Type-C cable is securely connected and not damaged.
    • Use a PD3.1 compatible power supply.
  • Tip res-Err: Abnormal resistance of iron tips.
    • This indicates a potential issue with the soldering tip itself. Try replacing the tip with a new one.
    • If the issue persists with multiple tips, contact customer support.

9. User Tips

  • Pre-tinning Wires: Always pre-tin the ends of wires before attempting to solder them to components or PCBs. This helps create stronger, more reliable joints.
  • Proper Temperature: Use the lowest effective temperature for your solder and components. Too high a temperature can damage components, while too low can result in cold solder joints.
  • Cleanliness is Key: A clean soldering tip and clean work area are essential for good soldering results. Regularly clean your tip and remove any debris from your workspace.
  • Practice Makes Perfect: If you're new to soldering, practice on scrap components or practice boards before working on important projects.
