2. Product Overview
The VARUN S20-1 is a foldable adult all-terrain electric bicycle designed for urban commuting and off-road adventures. It features a powerful 250W motor, a 48V 13Ah lithium battery, and 20*4" fat tires for versatile performance.

3. Setup and Assembly
- Unfolding the Bicycle: Carefully remove the bicycle from its packaging. Unfold the frame and secure the folding mechanism latch. Ensure it clicks firmly into place.
- Handlebar and Seatpost Installation: Insert the handlebar stem into the frame and tighten the quick-release lever. Adjust the handlebar height to a comfortable position. Insert the seatpost and saddle, adjusting the height for proper leg extension, then secure the quick-release.
- Pedal Installation: Identify the left (L) and right (R) pedals. The left pedal screws counter-clockwise, and the right pedal screws clockwise. Tighten them firmly with a wrench.
- Tire Inflation: Check the tire pressure. Inflate the 20*4" fat tires to the recommended PSI (usually indicated on the tire sidewall) using a suitable pump.
- Battery Installation and Initial Charge: Insert the 48V 13Ah lithium battery into its compartment and lock it with the provided key. Connect the charger to the battery port and then to a power outlet. Charge the battery fully before the first ride (approximately 4-6 hours).
- Brake Check: Squeeze both brake levers to ensure they engage properly and stop the wheels effectively. Adjust if necessary.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Powering On/Off
To power on the e-bicycle, press and hold the power button on the LCD display. To power off, press and hold the power button again.
4.2 LCD Display Functions
The intelligent LCD display provides essential riding information:
- Speed: Current riding speed.
- Mileage: Total distance traveled (ODO) and trip distance (TRIP).
- PAS Level: Pedal Assist System level (1-3).
- Battery Level: Indicates remaining battery charge.

4.3 Riding Modes
- Pedal Mode: Ride the bicycle like a traditional bike without electric assistance.
- Pedal Assist System (PAS) Mode: The motor provides assistance as you pedal. Use the '+' and '-' buttons on the display to select assist levels (1-3). Level 1 provides minimal assistance, while Level 3 provides maximum assistance.
- Electric Mode (Throttle): If equipped, use the thumb throttle to engage the motor without pedaling.
4.4 Gear Shifting
The VARUN S20-1 is equipped with a 7-speed Shimano gear system. Use the shifter on the handlebar to change gears according to terrain and desired speed. Shift to lower gears for climbing hills and higher gears for flat terrain.

4.5 Braking
The e-bicycle is equipped with disc brakes. Apply both brake levers gently and evenly to slow down or stop. Avoid sudden, hard braking, especially at high speeds.
4.6 Folding and Unfolding
To fold the bicycle, disengage the frame and handlebar folding mechanisms. Ensure the bike is powered off before folding. To unfold, reverse the process, ensuring all latches are securely engaged.
5. Maintenance
- Battery Care: Charge the battery regularly, even if not in use, to maintain its lifespan. Store the battery in a cool, dry place. Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
- Tire Pressure: Regularly check and maintain the correct tire pressure for the 20*4" fat tires. Proper inflation improves ride quality, efficiency, and tire longevity.
- Brake Inspection: Periodically inspect brake pads for wear and brake cables for tension. Adjust or replace as needed.
- Chain Lubrication: Keep the chain clean and lubricated to ensure smooth gear changes and prevent rust.
- General Cleaning: Clean the bicycle regularly with a damp cloth. Avoid using high-pressure washers directly on electrical components.
- Storage: When storing for extended periods, ensure the battery is partially charged (around 50-70%) and stored separately in a temperature-controlled environment.

6. Troubleshooting
- Bike Not Powering On: Check if the battery is properly installed and charged. Ensure the power button is pressed and held correctly.
- Motor Not Assisting: Verify the PAS level on the display. Ensure the battery has sufficient charge. Check for any loose connections to the motor.
- Brakes Not Effective: Inspect brake pads for wear. Check brake cable tension and adjust if too loose. Ensure brake levers are not obstructed.
- Unusual Noises: Stop riding immediately and inspect the bike for loose parts, rubbing components, or foreign objects.
