Troubleshooting
- Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4GHz. The doorbell does not support 5GHz networks and requires an active network connection to function.
- App Connection Problems: If the doorbell is not connecting to the Mi Home app, verify that the app's region setting is set to "Chinese Mainland". This doorbell is a Chinese version and is not compatible with the Global Version of the app.
- Dismantling Alarm Not Functioning: The dismantling alarm function is turned off by default. You must manually enable it within the Mi Home app settings if you wish to use it.
- Short Recording Duration: The actual recording duration of videos depends on the set recording limit time and whether continuous activity is detected within the frame. Adjust settings in the Mi Home app if needed.
- No Humanoid Detection Notifications: Ensure humanoid detection is enabled and configured in the Mi Home app. After a human figure appears on screen, the system should automatically send a reminder to your phone and upload the event video to the cloud.
- Adhesion Issues: If using adhesive for installation, ensure you wait 24 hours after initial placement for optimal adhesion.
User Tips
- Optimal Installation Height: For best detection and viewing angles, install the doorbell at approximately 1.5 meters (about 5 feet) from the ground.
- Wi-Fi Signal Strength: Ensure the doorbell is installed within good range of your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi router for stable connectivity and performance.
- Customize Detection Settings: Adjust the detection sensitivity and recording intervals in the Mi Home app to suit your environment and reduce unnecessary recordings, which can also help conserve battery life.
- Regular Charging: While the battery life is long, establish a routine for checking the battery level via the app and charging the doorbell to ensure continuous operation.
- Explore Mi Home App Features: Familiarize yourself with all the settings and features available in the Mi Home app, such as voice intercom options and smart home integrations, to maximize your doorbell's utility.
