4. Setup

4.1 Unpacking

Carefully remove all packaging materials. Inspect the freezer for any damage. Report any damage to your retailer immediately.

4.2 Placement

  • Place the freezer on a firm, level surface.
  • Allow adequate ventilation around the appliance. Maintain a minimum distance of 10 cm (4 inches) from walls and other objects to ensure proper air circulation.
  • Avoid placing the freezer in direct sunlight or near heat sources such as stoves, heaters, or radiators, as this will increase energy consumption.
  • Ensure the ambient temperature is within the recommended operating range for the freezer.

4.3 Leveling

The freezer is equipped with two front adjustable legs. Rotate the legs to raise or lower the appliance until it is perfectly level. This prevents vibrations and ensures proper door sealing.

4.4 Door Reversal

The door hinge can be reversed to open from either the left or right side, depending on your preference and kitchen layout. Refer to Figure 3.6 for a visual guide. This process typically involves:

  1. Unplugging the appliance.
  2. Removing the top hinge cover and screws.
  3. Removing the door.
  4. Transferring the bottom hinge and stopper to the opposite side.
  5. Reattaching the door and top hinge on the new side.

It is recommended to have assistance when reversing the door due to the weight and size of the door.

4.5 Initial Power-On

After placement and leveling, wait at least 2-4 hours before plugging the freezer into a power outlet. This allows the refrigerant to settle. Once plugged in, the freezer will begin to cool.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Adjustable Thermostat

The freezer features a mechanical thermostat located inside the appliance. You can easily set your desired cooling level by rotating the dial. There are three adjustable modes to choose from, allowing you to optimize the temperature for different types of frozen foods and ambient conditions.

  • Setting 1 (Min): Less cold, suitable for light loads or when ambient temperature is low.
  • Setting 2 (Med): Standard operating temperature, suitable for most uses.
  • Setting 3 (Max): Coldest setting, ideal for quick freezing or when ambient temperature is high.

Allow several hours for the temperature to stabilize after adjusting the thermostat.

5.2 Food Storage Guidelines

  • Always store food in sealed containers or freezer bags to prevent freezer burn and odor transfer.
  • Do not place hot food directly into the freezer; allow it to cool down first.
  • Avoid overloading the freezer, as this can restrict airflow and reduce cooling efficiency.
  • Utilize the separate compartments (shelves and drawer) to organize different types of food, such as ice cream, meats, and seafood, for easy access and better preservation.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

Regular cleaning helps maintain the hygiene and efficiency of your freezer.

  1. Unplug the freezer from the power outlet.
  2. Remove all food items and store them in another freezer or cooler.
  3. Wash the interior with a solution of mild detergent and warm water. Rinse thoroughly and dry with a soft cloth.
  4. Clean the exterior surfaces with a damp cloth and mild detergent.
  5. Ensure the door gasket is clean and free of debris to maintain a tight seal.
  6. Do not use abrasive cleaners, sharp objects, or flammable fluids for cleaning.

6.2 Defrosting

Over time, frost will accumulate inside the freezer. Excessive frost buildup reduces efficiency and storage space. Defrost the freezer when the frost layer is about 5mm (0.2 inches) thick.

  1. Unplug the freezer.
  2. Remove all food items and place them in a cooler.
  3. Leave the freezer door open to allow the frost to melt naturally. Place towels at the bottom to absorb water.
  4. To speed up the process, you can place bowls of hot water inside the freezer (ensure they are on a heat-resistant surface).
  5. Once defrosted, clean and dry the interior thoroughly.
  6. Plug the freezer back in and allow it to cool down before returning food.
