7. Troubleshooting

  • No Sonar Data / Inaccurate Readings:
    • Ensure the fish finder unit is floating on water and the metal probe is fully submerged. The sonar only activates in water.
    • Avoid testing in smooth, hard places like water tanks or swimming pools, as this can cause inaccurate readings due to repeated sonar reception. Always test in outdoor deep water.
  • Connection Issues:
    • Make sure the WiFi box is powered on and its orange indicator light is flashing.
    • Verify that mobile data is turned OFF on your smartphone.
    • For iOS devices, turn OFF 'Wi-Fi Assist'.
    • For Android devices, turn OFF 'Smart Network Switch', 'Auto Network switch', or 'Wi-Fi+'.
    • Ensure you are connected to the correct Wi-Fi network named "FishFinder" with the password 12345678.
    • Keep the "WIFI Fish Finder" app updated to the latest version.
  • Short Battery Life:
    • Ensure the device is fully charged before use (5 hours for a full charge).
    • Check the charging indicator light (red) to confirm charging status.

8. User Tips

  • Optimal Performance: For best results, use the fish finder in open, deep water.
  • App Updates: Regularly check for updates to the "WIFI Fish Finder" app to ensure you have the latest features and bug fixes.
  • Power Saving: The wireless sensor/WiFi fish finder will automatically switch to a resting state when not in water, stopping sonar operation to conserve battery. It will reactivate once placed back in water.
