2.1 Spool Types and Dimensions

SUNLU filament may come with one of two spool types: Removable Spool or Plastic Spool. Both types are designed for optimal performance.

For reusable spools, follow these steps to install the filament:

  1. Find the mark: Locate the "Line 1", "unlock", and "lock" marks on the spool.
  2. Align the mark: Align the filament with "Line 1" and the "unlock" position.
  3. Install the spool: Turn the filament to the "lock" position to secure it.

  • Printing Speed: 30-60 MM/s (for 200-215℃) or 100-200 MM/s (for 215-235℃)
  • Platform Temperature: No Need / Alternatives 60-80℃ (apply glue when not heating)
  • Pull Force (KGF): 6-8

  • Cooling: Adequate cooling is important for silk PLA to maintain its glossy finish and prevent heat creep. Adjust fan speeds as needed.
  • Nozzle Wear: While PLA is generally non-abrasive, some silk filaments contain additives that might slightly increase nozzle wear over time. Monitor your nozzle for any signs of wear.
