4. Product Overview

5. Initial Setup
5.1. Power Supply
- Main Unit: The host unit is powered by a built-in 1250mAh rechargeable lithium battery. Use the provided USB cable to charge the device.
- Receiver: The receiver requires a 9V battery (not included). Open the battery compartment on the receiver and insert a 9V battery, ensuring correct polarity.
5.2. Turning On/Off
Press and hold the power button on the main unit to turn the device on or off. The device features an auto power-off function to conserve battery life.
6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Network Cable Length Measurement
- Connect one end of the RJ45 network cable to the main unit's RJ45 port.
- The device will automatically detect and display the cable length on the LCD screen.

6.2. Cable Mapping
This function tests for continuity, short circuits, open circuits, and cross-overs in network cables.
- Connect one end of the network cable to the main unit's RJ45 port and the other end to the receiver's RJ45 port.
- Select the 'Cable Mapping' mode on the main unit.
- The LCD screen will display the wiring status, indicating normal connection, short circuit, cross-over, or break.

6.3. Tracing Cables (Scan)
Use this function to locate a specific cable among a bundle.
- Connect the network cable to the main unit's RJ45 port.
- Select the 'Scan' mode on the main unit.
- Use the receiver to trace the cable. The receiver will emit an audible tone (digital mode) or vibrate (vibration mode, ET623 only) when it detects the signal from the main unit. Adjust sensitivity as needed.

6.4. QC Connector Crimping Test
This test verifies the quality of the crimped RJ45 connector.
- Connect the crimped network cable to the main unit's RJ45 port.
- Select the 'QC' mode.
- The device will indicate if the crimping is correct or if there are issues (e.g., a wire not properly crimped).

6.5. Port Flash
This function helps identify the port on a network switch to which a cable is connected.
- Connect one end of the network cable to the main unit's RJ45 port.
- Connect the other end of the cable to a port on a network switch.
- Select the 'Flash' mode on the main unit. The corresponding port light on the switch will blink, allowing you to identify the connected port.

6.6. Remote ID Mapping (Optional for ET623)
For identifying multiple cable runs simultaneously, remote ID units can be used.
- Connect the network cable to the main unit's RJ45 port.
- Attach a remote ID unit (1-7) to the other end of the cable.
- The main unit will display the corresponding ID number, allowing you to map and identify multiple cables.

6.7. POE Voltage Measurement
Measure the voltage and polarity of Power over Ethernet (PoE) connections.
- Connect the network cable from a PoE source to the main unit's RJ45 port.
- Select the 'PoE Test' mode.

6.8. Multimeter Functions (ET623 Only)
The ET623 model includes a comprehensive multimeter for various electrical measurements.
- Connect the multimeter test leads to the appropriate ports on the main unit.
- Select the desired measurement mode (AC Voltage, DC Voltage, Resistance, Capacitance, Continuity, Diode) using the mode button.
- Apply the test leads to the circuit or component to be measured.

6.9. NCV Test
The Non-Contact Voltage (NCV) test detects whether a circuit is live without physical contact.
- Select the 'NCV' mode.
- Bring the receiver close to the circuit or wire. The device will indicate the presence of voltage. The sensitivity can be adjusted.

8. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Storage: When not in use, store the device in its original storage box in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Battery Care: For prolonged storage, ensure the main unit's battery is partially charged (around 50%) and remove the 9V battery from the receiver to prevent leakage.
