7. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your FarDriver controller and DKD display, consider the following general maintenance guidelines:

  • Keep the controller and display clean and free from dust and debris.
  • Regularly check all wiring connections for tightness and signs of wear or corrosion.
  • Ensure the controller's heat sink fins are not obstructed to allow for proper cooling.
  • Avoid exposing the components to extreme temperatures or direct water spray.
  • If any issues arise, consult the troubleshooting section or contact support before attempting repairs.

8. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues and questions related to the FarDriver controller and DKD display.

8.1 Common Issues

Q: Some auxiliary functions of my original vehicle (e.g., speedometer display) are not working after installation.
A: The FarDriver controllers are universal versions and are not custom-made for specific vehicle brands. Therefore, some original auxiliary functions may not operate as expected. Most functional interfaces may require modification rather than being plug-and-play. Always carefully check the function line on your original vehicle and the communication signal of the speedometer before attempting modifications.
Q: The DKD display voltage reading is incorrect after changing the battery.
A: If you change the lithium battery type, you must power cycle the display for the new voltage settings to be recognized. You can also use Password 856 to select the correct voltage (48V, 60V, 72V, 96V) or Password 824 for self-input voltage calibration.

9. User Tips

  • Professional Installation Recommended: Due to the technical nature of the controller and display, it is highly recommended that installation and wiring be performed by individuals with knowledge of electric kits assembly to avoid man-made damage.
  • Verify Compatibility: Before purchasing or installing, ensure the controller's specifications (voltage, power) are compatible with your motor and battery system.
  • Utilize Programming: Take advantage of the PC and phone programmability features to fine-tune your controller's performance to your specific needs and riding style.
