4. Setup

The ISWARD Robot Lawn Mower is designed for quick and simple installation without manual wiring.

4.1 Initial Placement and Charging Station

  • Place the charging station in a location with good signal reception and where water does not collect. It no longer needs to be fixed on the lawn and can be freely placed on any suitable nearby ground.
  • Ensure a power source is close to the lawn for the charging station.

4.2 App Connection and Mapping

Connect the mower to the dedicated mobile application (available for iOS and Android).

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Common Issues and Solutions

Q: Why Does the App Show Rain Pause When It Isn’t Raining?
A: This is likely due to moisture or water accumulation on the mower's rain sensor. Wipe the sensor clean and try again. Even if it’s not raining, we recommend mowing during drier periods for better results.
Q: Why Are There Many Missed Spots in the Mowing Area?
A: Complex obstacles on the lawn may confuse the mower, making it think it can’t pass through certain areas. Keep the lawn free of excess debris. If many areas remain unmowed, continue using the mower through multiple cycles, as the mower will eventually cover all missed areas.
Q: Why Did My Mower Suddenly Stop Working?
A: This is typically due to weak GPS signal. The mower will automatically reconnect to the satellite and resume operation. If the signal is lost for a long time, try adjusting the base station's position.
Q: Why Does the Mower Take So Long to Return to Charge or Not Charge at All?
A: If the charging connector is in good condition but the mower isn't charging, clean the charging contacts on both the charging station and the mower, then try charging again.
Q: Why Is the Mower Not Passing Through the Path I Set?
A: Ensure the path is clear of obstacles and that the width is greater than 1 meter. Also, check that the start and end points of the path are within the map's boundaries.
Q: Why Is the RTK Signal Light Flashing, and the Mower Can’t Connect to Satellite?
A: Try moving the RTK base station to an open area (refer to the quick installation guide) and press the reset button 3 times to re-match the connection.
Q: What to Do If There Are Many Missed Cuts and the Grass Is Not Cleanly Cut?
A: If this is your first time using the mower, manually mow the lawn first, or increase the cutting height. For thick grass, consider using the grass deflector.

10. User Tips

  • Optimal Mowing: For best results, especially during the first use or with thick grass, consider manually mowing the lawn first or increasing the cutting height.
  • Obstacle Management: Keep your lawn free of excess debris to prevent confusion for the mower and ensure complete coverage.
  • Signal Strength: If the mower frequently stops or has trouble connecting to satellites, try adjusting the RTK base station's position to an open area.
  • Charging Issues: Regularly clean the charging contacts on both the charging station and the mower to ensure proper connection and charging.
  • Path Planning: When setting paths, ensure they are clear of obstacles and at least 1 meter wide. Verify that the start and end points are within the mapped boundaries.
  • Night Operation: The mower can be used at night as its low noise level (60 dB) is designed not to disturb neighbors. Its lights will turn on for visibility.
