5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
The ANENG RN01 requires 2 x AAA 1.5V batteries (not included).
- Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
- Slide or unclip the cover to open.
- Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Power On/Off
- Power On: Press the Power button (
) to turn on the device. - Power Off: Long press the Power button to turn off the device. The device will also automatically power off after 12 minutes of no operation.
6.2 Absolute and Relative Measurement
The inclinometer supports two measurement modes:
- Absolute Measurement: This is the default mode. The display shows the angle relative to a true horizontal plane (0.00°).
- Relative Measurement: To measure the angle between two surfaces, place the inclinometer on the first surface and short press the ZERO button. The display will show 0.00°, setting this as the new reference plane. Then, move the inclinometer to the second surface to measure the relative angle.

6.3 Angle and Slope Display
The device can display measurements in degrees (°) or slope percentage (%).
- Short press the H/% button to switch between angle (°) and slope ratio (%).

6.4 Data Hold
To hold the current measurement on the display:
- Short press the H/% button (if not already in use for switching units) or a dedicated 'HOLD' button if present (refer to device markings). The display will show 'HOLD'.
- Press the button again to release the data hold function.
6.5 Screen Rotation
The display automatically rotates 180° when the inclinometer is turned upside down, ensuring easy readability in any orientation.

6.6 Calibration Steps
For optimal accuracy, it is recommended to calibrate the inclinometer periodically or if you suspect inaccurate readings. Perform calibration on a flat, stable surface.
- Step 1 (CAL1): Long press the Power button to turn on the device. Place the instrument on a flat calibration plane with the front facing you. Confirm it's in normal measurement mode. Then, press and hold both the Power button and the H/% button simultaneously. The display will show "CAL1".
- Step 2 (CAL2): Wait until the buzzer beeps. Rotate the instrument 180° on the same plane. The display will show "CAL2".
- Step 3 (CAL3): Press the H/% key. Wait until the buzzer beeps. Rotate the instrument 90° on the same plane. The display will show "CAL3".
- Step 4 (CAL4): Press the H/% key. Wait until the buzzer beeps. Rotate the instrument 180° on the same plane. The display will show "CAL4".
- Step 5 (CAL5): Press the H/% key. Wait for a beep. Before the next beep, press the H/% key again and place the instrument horizontally on the calibrated plane. The display will show "CAL5".
- Step 6 (CAL6): Wait until the buzzer sounds. Rotate the instrument 180° so that the display is facing up. The display will show "CAL6".
- Step 7 (CAL): Press the H/% key. Wait until you hear a beep. Press the H/% key again. The screen will briefly display "CAL" and then return to normal measurement mode after about 3 seconds. Calibration is complete.
