4. Maintenance

4.1. General Care

  • Keep the device clean and dry. Wipe with a soft, damp cloth if necessary. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Store the clamp meter in its provided storage bag when not in use to protect it from dust and damage.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.

4.2. Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator shows low power, replace the 3 AAA batteries promptly to ensure accurate measurements and proper device function. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 2.2.

5. Troubleshooting

  • Device does not power on: Check if the batteries are correctly installed and have sufficient charge. Replace batteries if necessary.
  • Inaccurate readings: Ensure test leads are properly connected. Verify that the correct measurement mode is selected. For current measurements, ensure the conductor is centered in the clamp jaw.
  • "CAL" display on startup: This is a normal self-test process and indicates the device is calibrating for accuracy.
  • Display is dim or flickering: Replace batteries.

8. User Tips

  • Always read the full user manual before operating the device to ensure safe and accurate measurements.
  • When measuring current with the clamp, ensure only one conductor is inside the jaw for an accurate reading. Measuring multiple conductors will result in an incorrect reading due to opposing magnetic fields.
  • Utilize the flashlight feature in poorly lit areas to improve visibility and safety during measurements.
  • The auto shut-off feature helps conserve battery life; remember to turn off the device manually if you are done with measurements and want to ensure it doesn't stay on.
