1. Introduction

The VX600 Pro is an all-in-one controller combining video processing and video control functionalities into a single device. Equipped with 6 Ethernet ports, it supports three working modes: video controller, fiber converter, and ByPass. Capable of managing up to 3.9 million pixels, the VX600 Pro can output at a maximum width of 10,240 pixels and a height of 8,192 pixels, making it perfectly suited for controlling ultra-wide and ultra-high LED screens on-site.

The VX600 Pro boasts powerful video signal reception and processing capabilities, supporting a maximum resolution of 4K×2K@60Hz for video input. It can handle multiple video signal inputs and includes features like 6 layers, output scaling, low latency and pixel-level brightness and chroma calibration. These functions combine to deliver outstanding image display quality.

With various control options available, the VX600 Pro can be operated via the front panel knob, NovaLCT, Unico web page and VICP app, providing you with a convenient and effortless control experience.

The VX600 Pro is housed in an industrial-grade casing, which, combined with its powerful video processing and transmission capabilities, makes it robust and well-suited for complex operational environments. The VX600 Pro is a perfect fit for medium and high-end rental, stage control systems and fine-pitch LED screens.

2. Physical Description

2.1 Front Panel

The front panel provides access to the device's display, navigation, and primary control functions. Refer to the image above for visual reference.

  • LAYER 1-3: Open or close a layer, and show the layer status.
    • Green: The layer is open.
    • Red: The layer is closed.
    • Flashing (Blue): The layer is being edited.
    • Off (Red): The layer is closed.
  • When you play media files saved in a USB drive, the layer buttons are used to control the playback.
    • LAYER-1: This button is used to play or pause the files.
    • LAYER-2: This button is used to stop the playback.
    • LAYER-3: This button is used to play the previous file.
  • SCALE button: Used to scale the full screen to fit. Press the button to make the layer of the lowest priority fill the entire screen.
    • On (Blue): Full screen scaling is turned on.
    • Off (Red): Full screen scaling is turned off.
  • When you play media files saved in a USB drive, this button is used to play the next file.
5Input source buttons
  • Show the input source status and switch the layer input source.
  • Button indicators are used to indicate the working status of the input source.
    • White, always on: Input source is not used, and no input signal is accessed.
    • Blue, fast flashing: Input source is used, but no input signal is accessed.
    • Blue, slow flashing: Input source is not used, but input signal is accessed.
    • Blue, always on: Input source is used, and input signal is accessed.
  • U-DISK: USB playback button. Hold down the button to enter the media playback control screen. Press the button to switch the layer input source.
  • MEDIA: USB player button. Press the button to enter the USB player screen.

3.2 System Connection

Follow these steps to connect the VX600 Pro to your LED display system:

  1. Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the VX600 Pro's power input (100-240V~, 50/60Hz) and to a suitable power outlet.
  2. LED Screen Connection: Connect the Gigabit Ethernet ports (OUT) on the rear panel of the VX600 Pro to the receiving cards of your LED screen using Ethernet cables. The VX600 Pro has 6 Gigabit Ethernet ports.
  3. Input Source Connection:
    • HDMI Sources: Connect your HDMI video sources (e.g., computer, media player) to the HDMI 2.0 (IN) or HDMI 1.3 input ports.
    • SDI Sources: Connect your SDI video sources to the 3G-SDI (IN) port.
    • Optical Fiber Input: If using an optical fiber source, connect it to the OPT1 port.
    • USB Drive: For local media playback, insert a USB 3.0 drive into the front panel USB port.
  4. Monitoring (Optional): Connect a monitor to the HDMI 1.3 output port on the rear panel to preview the output.
  5. Control Connection:
    • PC Control: Connect an Ethernet cable from your control PC/router to one of the ETHERNET control ports on the rear panel. Alternatively, use a USB cable to connect the PC to the USB control port.
    • External Sync (Genlock): If external synchronization is required, connect a Genlock signal to the GENLOCK BNC connector.
    • Light Sensor (Optional): Connect a light sensor to the LIGHT SENSOR port for automatic brightness adjustment.
  6. Audio Connection: Connect external audio devices to the 3.5mm Audio In/Out ports as needed.

4.3 Layer Management and Presets

  • Multiple Layer Display: Supports 6*2K×1K layer resources. Layers can be created in 4K×2K, 4K×1K, and 2K×1K specifications.
    • Adjustable layer size and position.
    • Adjustable layer priority.
    • Adjustable aspect ratio.
  • Preset Saving and Loading: Up to 256 user-defined presets can be saved, overwritten, and deleted. Presets can be loaded with a single button press, and layer layouts can be previewed.

4.4 Image and Video Processing

  • Personalized Image Scaling: Supports full screen, pixel-to-pixel, and custom scaling modes.
  • Powerful Video Processing: Features SuperView III image quality processing for stepless output scaling, one-click full screen display, and free input cropping.
  • Color Adjustment: Manage output color including brightness, saturation, contrast, and hue.
  • Pixel-Level Calibration: Works with NovaLCT and NovaStar calibration software for brightness and chroma calibration on each LED, improving image quality and consistency.

4.5 3D Functionality

The VX600 Pro supports 3D visual experiences:

  • Traditional Solution: Connect an EMT200 3D emitter to the device's Ethernet port and use compatible 3D glasses.
  • New Solution: Connect a third-party 3D emitter to the device's dedicated 3D connector and use compatible 3D glasses.

Note:

When the 3D function is enabled and the video source format is Side-by-Side or Top-and-Bottom, the device output capacity will be halved.

4.6 USB Playback

The device supports instant plug-and-play USB playback for images and videos saved on a USB drive. Refer to the Front Panel description (Table 2.1, item 7) for supported file systems, formats, and resolutions.
