6. Operating Instructions

6.1 3-Way Flexible Pan Head Rotation

The 3-way pan head allows for precise positioning of your mounted device:

  • Horizontal Rotation (360°): Use the 360° rotating handles (3) to pan your device horizontally.
  • Vertical Tilt (90°): A separate knob allows for 90° vertical tilt.
  • Lateral Adjustment (210°): The pan head also facilitates lateral tilt adjustments.

The movement of the tripod head is controlled by a single positioning handle. Tighten the handle for precise fine-tuning of the device's position.

6.2 Leveling Your Device

Use the built-in bubble level (2) on the pan head to ensure your device is perfectly level for accurate measurements or photography. Adjust the legs and pan head until the bubble is centered.

6.3 Using the Gravity Hook

For increased stability, especially in windy conditions or when using heavy equipment, utilize the gravity hook (7). Hang heavy items like backpacks or sandbags on the hook to lower the tripod's center of gravity and prevent tipping.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the tripod with a soft, dry cloth after each use. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
  • Storage: Store the tripod in its included carry bag in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all screws, knobs, and leg locks to ensure they are tight and functioning correctly. Do not overtighten.

8. Troubleshooting

  • Tripod is unstable:
    • Ensure all leg sections are fully extended and their flip locks are securely fastened.
    • Verify the center column locking knob is tightened.
    • Utilize the gravity hook by hanging a weight to improve stability, especially on uneven terrain or in windy conditions.
    • Check that the non-slip rubber mats on the feet are clean and making good contact with the surface.
  • Device is not level:
    • Adjust the individual leg lengths to compensate for uneven surfaces.
    • Use the bubble level on the pan head to guide your adjustments until the bubble is centered.
  • Difficulty adjusting height or pan head:
    • Ensure all relevant locking knobs (center column, pan head) and flip locks (leg sections) are loosened before attempting to adjust.
    • Do not force adjustments; if resistance is met, recheck the locks.

9. User Tips

  • For maximum stability, especially in windy conditions, utilize the gravity hook by hanging a weight (e.g., a sandbag or backpack) from it.
  • Always ensure all locks are securely tightened after adjusting the tripod to prevent accidental movement of your mounted device.
  • When using with a phone, ensure the phone holder is securely attached and the phone is centered for optimal balance.
  • The compact and lightweight design makes it ideal for outdoor work and easy transport in the included carry bag.
