  • Ground Clamp: Connect the earth clamp cable to the designated terminal (usually marked with a ground symbol). Securely attach the clamp to the workpiece.
  • MIG Torch: Connect the MIG torch to the appropriate connector.
  • MMA (Electrode Holder): For MMA welding, connect the electrode holder cable to the positive (+) terminal.
  • TIG Torch: For TIG welding, connect the TIG torch to the negative (-) terminal.

4.4 Wire Feeder Setup (for MIG Welding)

  1. Open the side panel of the welder to access the inner wire feeder.
  2. Place the wire spool onto the spindle, ensuring it rotates freely.
  3. Thread the welding wire through the guide tube and into the drive rollers.
  4. Close the drive roller tension arm and adjust the tension according to the wire diameter.
  5. Feed the wire through the MIG torch liner until it exits the contact tip.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 General Operation

  1. Ensure all connections are secure and correct for the desired welding process.
  2. Turn on the main power switch on the rear panel.
  3. Select the desired welding mode (MIG, MMA, or TIG) using the switch on the front panel.
  4. Adjust the current, voltage, and wire speed (for MIG) using the control knobs. Refer to welding charts or practice on scrap material to find optimal settings.
  5. Begin welding, always wearing appropriate PPE.

5.2 MIG Welding (Gas/Gasless)

  • Gas MIG: Connect the shielding gas (e.g., Argon/CO2 mix for steel) to the gas inlet. Ensure the gas flow rate is set correctly.
  • Gasless MIG (Flux Cored): No external shielding gas is required. Use flux-cored wire.
  • Adjust wire speed and voltage according to the material thickness and wire type.

5.3 MMA (Stick) Welding

  • Insert the appropriate electrode into the electrode holder.
  • Adjust the current based on the electrode type and diameter, and the material thickness.
  • Strike the arc by lightly touching and quickly lifting the electrode from the workpiece.

5.4 TIG Welding (Lift TIG)

  • Connect the TIG torch and shielding gas (e.g., Argon).
  • Ensure a tungsten electrode is correctly installed in the torch.
  • Adjust the current.
  • Initiate the arc by gently touching the tungsten to the workpiece and lifting it slightly (Lift TIG).

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your welding machine.

  • Cleaning: Periodically clean the machine, especially the cooling fan and air vents, to prevent dust buildup. Use compressed air to blow out debris.
  • Cable Inspection: Regularly inspect all welding cables, torches, and clamps for damage, fraying, or loose connections. Replace damaged components immediately.
  • Wire Feeder: Clean the wire feeder rollers and guide tubes to ensure smooth wire feeding. Check for wear on the rollers.
  • Storage: Store the welder in a clean, dry environment when not in use.
