1. Product Overview

The THINKCAR GDI 200 is an advanced fuel injector cleaner and tester designed for automotive professionals. It features enhanced ultrasonic cleaning and intelligent testing functions, supporting a wide range of injectors including standard, GDI, and Piezoelectric types (EFI, SFI, SPI, GDI, and electro-hydraulic injectors). This 6-cylinder unit allows for efficient simultaneous testing and cleaning of up to six injectors.

2. Component Identification

Familiarize yourself with the main components of the GDI 200 unit:

3. Setup

  1. Placement: Place the GDI 200 on a stable, level surface in a well-ventilated area.
  2. Power Connection: Connect the power cable to the power socket (7) and a suitable electrical outlet (AC220V~50/60Hz or AC110V~60HZ).
  3. Compressed Air: Connect a compressed air supply to the compressed air connection port (3). Ensure the air pressure is within the recommended working pressure of 3-8 bar.
  4. Fuel Supply: Connect the oil supply pipe (5) to the fuel port (1). Fill the oil tank with the appropriate test fluid.
  5. Ultrasonic Cleaning Tank: Fill the ultrasonic cleaning tank (4) with the recommended cleaning solution.
  6. Injector Installation: Install the injectors into the appropriate slots, ensuring secure connections for the pulse signal cables (2). The pulse signal lines are clearly labeled for easy identification.

4. Operating Instructions

The GDI 200 features an intelligent control panel for easy operation. Refer to the diagram below for control panel layout and function icon descriptions.

Control Panel Overview:

  • Display Screen: Shows current settings and test results.
  • Oil Drain Key: Initiates oil draining.
  • Pressure Relief Key: Releases system pressure.
  • Direction Keys (Up, Down, Left, Right): Navigate through menus and adjust parameters.
  • Cancel Key: Exits current operation or menu.
  • Confirm Key: Confirms selection or starts operation.
  • EXIT: Exits current mode.
  • ENTER: Confirms selection or starts a function.

Pulse Width TestTests the minimum pulse width of an injector by injecting through oil pressurized pulsating electrical signal detection.
Auto Mode 1 TestAccording to the preset testing program, automatically perform tests for atomization, uniformity, sealing, and fuel injection quantity.
Auto Mode 2 TestAUTO MODE 1 and mini-opening time.
Ultrasonic TestClean the carbon deposits inside the fuel injector through ultrasonic.
On-Vehicle CleanCleaning the engine with supply pipeline injector and combustion chamber with the pipeline does not require disassembly.
SystemSet the language and unit of the device operating system, query device information and restore device factory settings.
DatabaseQuerying the working pressure of various vehicle models' fuel systems.

General Operation Steps:

  1. Turn on the power switch (6).
  2. Use the direction keys on the operating panel (10) to select the desired test or cleaning function.
  3. Follow the on-screen prompts to set parameters such as pulse width, RPM range, and voltage.
  4. Press the ENTER key to start the selected function.
  5. Monitor the test measuring cups (9) and the display screen for results.
  6. After testing/cleaning, use the Oil Drain Key to drain the test fluid.
  7. For ultrasonic cleaning, ensure injectors are placed in the ultrasonic cleaning tank (4) with appropriate solution.

5. Maintenance

  • Draining Fluids: Regularly drain the test fluid from the oil tank via the liquid level (oil tank drain port) (12) and the cleaning solution from the ultrasonic cleaning tank via the ultrasonic drain port (13).
  • Cleaning the Unit: Keep the exterior of the unit clean and free from dust and spills. Use a soft, dry cloth.
  • Accessory Storage: Store all accessories in the accessories storage drawer (11) when not in use to prevent loss and damage.
  • Fluid Replacement: Replace test fluids and cleaning solutions according to manufacturer recommendations to ensure optimal performance and prevent damage to injectors or the machine.

6. Troubleshooting

  • Unit Not Powering On: Check the power cable connection and ensure the power switch (6) is in the 'ON' position. Verify the power outlet is functional.
  • No Fluid Flow: Check the fuel supply connection and ensure there is sufficient test fluid in the tank. Verify the pump is operating.
  • Inaccurate Test Results: Ensure injectors are properly installed and sealed. Verify the test fluid is clean and at the correct level. Check for proper air pressure supply.
  • Ultrasonic Cleaning Not Working: Ensure the ultrasonic cleaning tank (4) is filled with the correct solution and the function is selected on the operating panel.
  • Error Messages: If an error message appears on the display screen, consult the 'Help' function (refer to Figure 6) on the operating panel for specific fault code information.
