4 Levels of Visual & Audible Alarms for different hazard levels
  • Green Breathing (Safety):
    • CO concentration: 0-50ppm
    • Combustible gas concentration: < 5% LEL
    • Indicator: Emerald green breathing light flashes, green icon on screen, flashing combustible gas level 1 green light.
    • Audible Alarm: None.
  • Orange Breathing (Warning/Attention):
    • CO concentration: 51-100ppm
    • Combustible gas concentration: ≥ 5% LEL and < 8% LEL
    • Indicator: Orange breathing light flashes, yellow warning icon on screen, flashing combustible gas level 2 yellow light.
    • Audible Alarm: Yes.
  • Orange Flash (Danger):
    • CO concentration: 101-150ppm
    • Combustible gas concentration: ≥ 8% LEL and < 15% LEL
    • Indicator: Orange flash light flashes, orange warning icon on screen, flashing combustible gas level 3 orange warning light.
    • Audible Alarm: Yes.
  • Red Pop-Up (Critical Danger):
    • CO concentration: > 150ppm
    • Combustible gas concentration: ≥ 15% LEL
    • Indicator: Red flash light flashes, red warning icon on screen, red warning light of combustible gas level 4.
    • Audible Alarm: Yes.

Important Notes on Alarms:

  • The RGB color indicator is linked with screen brightness. When screen brightness is 0%, the RGB color indicator is turned off.
  • During Level 2 and 4 alarms, the sound cannot be muted, and the screen cannot be turned off. The screen brightness will go directly from 0% to 100%.
  • When the screen is off, the RGB color light flashes at low frequency.
  • If both GAS and CO alarms occur simultaneously, the highest alarm level will be displayed (e.g., if CO is Level 2 and GAS is Level 4, the Level 4 alarm will be displayed).

4. Maintenance

General Care:

  • Keep the detector clean by wiping it with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Ensure the ventilation openings on the device are not blocked by dust or debris.
  • Do not paint the detector, as this can interfere with the sensors.

Sensor Life:

The normal lifespan of the host unit is five years. When the sensor's life is exhausted, the display will show a prompt: “Sensor life has expired!” At this point, the device should be replaced to ensure continued protection.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your MOES PTH-24E detector, please refer to the following general advice. For more detailed troubleshooting, consult the product data sheet available online.

  • No display/Device not powering on: Ensure the detector is securely plugged into a functioning power outlet. Check if the outlet has power.
  • False alarms: Ensure the detector is not placed near sources of fumes (e.g., cooking fumes, strong cleaning agents) or in areas with high humidity or extreme temperatures that might trigger false readings.
  • Alarm sounds continuously: If an alarm sounds, immediately ventilate the area and investigate the source of the gas leak or CO. Do not ignore alarms.
  • “Sensor life has expired!” message: This indicates the end of the sensor's operational life. The device needs to be replaced.

8. User Tips

  • Regular Testing: Perform a self-test regularly (e.g., weekly or monthly) to ensure the detector is functioning correctly.
  • Good Ventilation: Always maintain good ventilation in areas where gas appliances are used or where CO/combustible gas leaks are a concern. The detector is an alarm, not a substitute for proper ventilation.
  • Understand Alarm Levels: Familiarize yourself with the different alarm levels (Green, Orange, Red) and their corresponding gas concentrations to react appropriately to warnings.
  • Immediate Action: If an alarm sounds, do not ignore it. Immediately open windows and doors for ventilation, turn off gas appliances if safe to do so, and evacuate the premises if the alarm persists or indicates high danger.
  • Placement Matters: Install the detector at an appropriate height and location, away from direct drafts, vents, or areas that might obstruct gas flow to the sensor.
