1. Introduction

The HT629 Nuclear Radiation Detector is a compact and portable personal dosimeter designed for accurate detection of X-ray, Γ-ray, and Β-ray radiation. 2.2 Instrument Panel

  • Status Indicator Light: Provides visual feedback on device status.
  • Display Screen: Shows measurement readings, units, and device status.
  • Power On/Off Button: Used to turn the device on or off.
  • Data Hold Button (HOLD): Freezes the current reading on the display.
  • Measurement Range Selection Button (UNIT): Cycles through different measurement units (µSv/h, mR/h, cps, cpm).
  • Buzzer On/Off Button: Toggles the audible alarm.
  • Measurement Type Selection Button (MAX/AVG/ACC): Selects between Maximum, Average, and Accumulated value display modes.

3. Setup

3.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the back of the device.
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert three (3) 1.5V AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

Note: Batteries are not included with the product and must be purchased separately.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off

  • To power on: Press and hold the Power On/Off Button until the display illuminates.
  • To power off: Press and hold the Power On/Off Button until the display turns off. The device also features an auto power-off function.

4.2 Taking Measurements

  1. Ensure the device is powered on.
  2. Position the detector in the area where radiation measurement is required.
  3. The display will show real-time radiation dose equivalent rate.

4.3 Unit Switching

  • Press the UNIT Button to cycle through available measurement units: µSv/h, mR/h, cps, and cpm.

4.4 Data Hold Function

  • Press the HOLD Button to freeze the current reading on the display.
  • Press the HOLD Button again to release the hold and resume real-time measurements.

4.5 Displaying Maximum, Average, and Accumulated Values

  • Press the MAX/AVG/ACC Button to switch between displaying the maximum, average, or accumulated radiation values since the device was last reset or powered on.

4.6 Alarm Functions

  • The device provides visual (Green/Red backlight) and audible (buzzer) alarms when radiation levels exceed preset thresholds.
  • To toggle the buzzer sound, press the Buzzer On/Off Button.

5. Maintenance

  • Keep the device clean and dry. Use a soft, damp cloth for cleaning; do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures, humidity, or direct sunlight.
  • If the device will not be used for an extended period, remove the batteries to prevent leakage.
  • Store the device in its protective bag when not in use to prevent damage.
