1. Introduction and Overview

The GMKtec G10 Mini PC is a compact and powerful desktop computer designed for a wide range of applications, from office productivity and home theater to light gaming. Featuring an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U processor, dual-channel DDR4 memory, and NVMe SSD storage, it delivers robust performance in a small form factor. This manual provides essential information for setting up, operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting your device.

2. Package Contents

Please check the package contents upon unboxing. If any items are missing or damaged, contact your retailer.

3. Safety Information

  • Do not expose the device to water, moisture, or extreme temperatures.
  • Use only the provided power adapter to prevent damage.
  • Avoid blocking ventilation openings to ensure proper cooling.
  • Do not attempt to open or repair the device yourself, as this may void the warranty and cause electric shock.
  • Keep the device away from strong magnetic fields.

4. Setup Guide

4.1 Connecting Peripherals

Before powering on your Mini PC, connect all necessary peripherals:

  1. Connect Display: Use an HDMI or DisplayPort cable to connect your monitor(s) to the corresponding ports on the Mini PC. The device supports up to three displays simultaneously (HDMI, DisplayPort, and Type-C DP).
  2. Connect Keyboard and Mouse: Plug your USB keyboard and mouse into the available USB ports.
  3. Connect Network: For a wired connection, plug an Ethernet cable into the 2.5G Giga LAN port. For wireless, ensure your Wi-Fi network is available during initial setup.
  4. Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the DC-in port on the Mini PC, then connect it to a power outlet.

4.2 Powering On and Initial Boot

After connecting all peripherals and power:

  1. Press the Power Button located on the front of the Mini PC.
  2. The device will boot up. If Windows 11 Pro is pre-installed, follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup, including language, region, network connection, and user account creation.
  3. If no operating system is installed, you will need to install one from a bootable USB drive or other media.

4.3 VESA Mounting (Optional)

The GMKtec G10 Mini PC supports VESA mounting, allowing you to attach it to the back of a compatible monitor or TV for a cleaner workspace.

  1. Attach the VESA mount bracket (if included) to the back of your monitor using the provided screws.
  2. Secure the Mini PC to the VESA mount bracket.
  3. Ensure all cables are routed neatly and securely.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Operation

  • Power On/Off: Press the power button to turn on. To turn off, use the operating system's shutdown function or press and hold the power button for a few seconds for a forced shutdown (not recommended for regular use).
  • Restart: Use the operating system's restart function.
  • Sleep Mode: Use the operating system's sleep function or a short press of the power button (configurable in OS settings).

5.2 Connectivity

  • Wi-Fi: The Mini PC supports Wi-Fi 5 for wireless internet access. Configure Wi-Fi settings through your operating system.
  • Bluetooth: Bluetooth 5.0 allows connection to various wireless peripherals like keyboards, mice, and headphones. Pair devices through your operating system's Bluetooth settings.
  • Ethernet: The 2.5G Giga LAN port provides high-speed wired network connectivity.

5.3 Multi-Display Setup

The GMKtec G10 supports connecting up to three displays simultaneously, enabling an expansive workspace or immersive entertainment experience. Connect monitors using the HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, and Type-C (DP/DATA/PD) ports. Ensure your monitors support 4K@60Hz for optimal resolution.

6. Maintenance and Upgrades

6.1 Cleaning

  • Regularly clean the exterior of the Mini PC with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Use compressed air to gently clear dust from ventilation openings to maintain optimal airflow.
  • Do not use liquid cleaners directly on the device.

6.2 RAM and SSD Upgrades

The GMKtec G10 Mini PC is designed for easy upgrades of its RAM and SSD storage. Refer to the internal structure diagram before proceeding.

To upgrade RAM:

  1. Power off the Mini PC and disconnect all cables.
  2. Carefully remove the bottom cover or detachable lid as indicated in the internal structure diagram.
  3. Locate the SO-DIMM DDR4 slots. Gently unclip the existing RAM modules (if any) and insert new modules, ensuring they are seated correctly. The device supports up to 64GB (2x32GB) of DDR4 RAM.
  4. Replace the cover.

To upgrade/add SSD:

  1. Follow steps 1 and 2 for RAM upgrade.
  2. Locate the M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 SSD slots. Insert your new NVMe SSD into an available slot and secure it with the retaining screw. The device supports up to 8TB (2x4TB) of M.2 2280 SSD storage.
  3. Replace the cover.

Always handle internal components with care and ensure proper grounding to prevent electrostatic discharge.

7. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the power adapter is securely connected to both the Mini PC and a working power outlet. Try a different outlet.
  • No Display: Check that the monitor is powered on and the display cable (HDMI/DP) is securely connected to both the Mini PC and the monitor. Try a different cable or monitor if possible.
  • No Internet Connection: For wired connections, check the Ethernet cable and router. For Wi-Fi, ensure the Wi-Fi adapter is enabled in the OS and you are connected to the correct network with the right password.
  • Slow Performance: Check for background applications consuming resources. Ensure sufficient free storage space. Consider upgrading RAM or SSD if performance issues persist.
  • Overheating: Ensure the Mini PC's ventilation holes are not blocked. Clean any dust accumulation.
