6. Maintenance

  • Keep the device clean and free from dust. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
  • Avoid exposing the device to liquids or excessive moisture.
  • Ensure proper ventilation around the device to prevent overheating.
  • Regularly check for firmware updates (FOTA Upgrade supported) to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.

7. Troubleshooting (Q&A)

7.1 What is the Wi-Fi password for the CarPlay Wireless Adapter?

You do not need a Wi-Fi password. After successful Bluetooth matching, Wi-Fi will automatically connect. Ensure your phone's Wi-Fi is turned on and not occupied by other devices during pairing.

7.2 Android Auto not starting or USB not recognized after pairing?

  1. If this is the first time using Android Auto in your car, connect your phone via a wired USB cable to activate Android Auto first.
  2. Ensure Android Auto on your Android phone is updated to the latest version. Log in to your Google Play account to update if necessary.
  3. If you previously connected an iPhone, disconnect the iPhone's Bluetooth connection first. Then, restart your Android phone's Bluetooth and try connecting Android Auto wirelessly again.

7.3 Audio input/output issues (calls rejected, no sound, mic not working, music interrupted)?

  1. Check if your iPhone/Android smartphone's Bluetooth is connected to other devices (e.g., earphones, smartwatch). If so, disconnect these devices or temporarily turn off your phone's Bluetooth, then reconnect to your vehicle's Bluetooth for CarPlay/Android Auto.
  2. During a call, ensure your car's audio output option is set to CarPlay/Android Auto.

7.4 Adapter indicator light remains on after the car is turned off?

Some cars do not immediately cut all power when turned off. The adapter's light will eventually go out. Rest assured, its power consumption is minimal and will not drain your car battery.

7.5 Can my mobile phone use other internet Wi-Fi when using the adapter?

When the adapter is active, it occupies your phone's Wi-Fi for its functionality. Therefore, you cannot use other internet Wi-Fi simultaneously. You will need to use your phone's mobile data (SIM card internet).

7.6 Unable to automatically reconnect?

  1. Ensure your mobile phone's Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functions are turned on and not occupied by other devices when you enter the car.
  2. Clear the pairing record for "AiBox" on your phone, restart your phone, and then re-pair the adapter.

7.7 Can the adapter be paired with multiple phones?

The adapter can be paired with a maximum of five phones. However, only one device can be connected at a time. To pair a new phone, you must first cancel the current connection. By default, the adapter's system will auto-connect to the last used phone via Bluetooth.

7.8 Cannot find the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi of the wireless CarPlay/Android Auto Adapter?

  1. Ensure the wireless CarPlay/Android Auto Adapter's power indicator light is on and that it is securely plugged into the correct port for wired CarPlay/Android Auto.
  2. If possible, test with another phone. If only a specific phone cannot find the Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, try resetting that phone's network and Bluetooth settings, then restart the phone. If the problem persists with other phones, the adapter may be defective.

9. User Tips

  • For the best experience, always ensure your phone's operating system and the Android Auto/CarPlay apps are up to date.
  • If you experience connectivity issues, try clearing your phone's Bluetooth pairing history for the "AiBox" and restarting both your phone and the car's infotainment system before re-pairing.
  • When switching between iOS CarPlay and Android Auto, remember to use the specific TF card method outlined in Section 4.3.
  • While the device supports multiple paired phones, only one can be actively connected at a time. If you need to connect a different phone, disconnect the current one first.
