4.2 Mounting Instructions

  1. Make the necessary holes for mounting the product.
  2. Use the recommended screw and nut size for installation.
  3. Be sure to install the product in the correct position and avoid mounting where vibrations exceed the maximum allowable ratings.

Note:

  • Screws used for installation are not included.
  • Installation outside the drawing (e.g., horizontal mounting) is inadvisable.
  • Do not install during transportation.

4.3 Folding Bracket Adjustment (for bendable models)

For models with a folding bracket, follow these steps for adjustment:

  1. Ensure the O-ring is correctly placed. Be careful not to misplace it.
  2. When folding or changing the bracket angle, the internal wiring may be pulled. Leave at least an extra 50mm of wiring inside the machine to relieve stress.
  3. Loosen the three M4x15 screws to readjust the angle of the folding bracket.
  4. Tighten the M4x15 screws to a torque of 0.6 N·m after adjustment.

  • Yellow LED: Orange Wire
  • Green LED: Green Wire
  • Buzzer: Sky Blue Wire
  • Power: Yellow Wire

The signal tower is compatible with NPN and PNP three-pole tube PLC systems.

6. Operation

The Patlite MG-302 series indicator light signal tower provides visual and, for certain models, audible signals to indicate various statuses in an industrial environment.

6.1 Visual Indication:

Each color segment (Red, Yellow, Green) can be controlled independently via external contacts. Apply 24V DC to the corresponding wire to illuminate the desired color.

6.2 Audible Indication (Models with Buzzer):

For models equipped with a buzzer (MG-302B-RYG, MG-302BQ-RYG), applying 24V DC to the Sky Blue wire will activate the 90 dB buzzer. The buzzer frequency can be adjusted via compatible external controllers, as mentioned in the features.

7. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Patlite signal tower, follow these maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe the lampshade and pole with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the plastic materials.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the wiring for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections. Check the mounting hardware to ensure it remains secure.
  • Environmental Conditions: Ensure the operating environment remains within the specified temperature and humidity ranges to prevent damage.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your Patlite signal tower, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

8.1 Light Not Illuminating:

  • Check Power Supply: Ensure 24V DC power is correctly supplied to the unit.
  • Check Wiring: Verify that the specific color wire (Red, Orange, Green) is correctly connected and receiving a signal.
  • Check Fuse: Ensure the external fuse (1A) is not blown.
  • Inspect for Damage: Look for any visible damage to the LED unit or internal components.

8.2 Buzzer Not Sounding (for models with buzzer):

  • Check Wiring: Ensure the Sky Blue wire for the buzzer is correctly connected and receiving a signal.
  • Check Power Supply: Confirm 24V DC power is supplied.
  • Buzzer Damage: If all connections are correct, the buzzer unit may be faulty.

8.3 Intermittent Operation:

  • Loose Connections: Check all wiring connections for tightness.
  • Power Fluctuations: Ensure a stable 24V DC power supply.
  • Vibration: Verify that the unit is securely mounted and not subjected to excessive vibration beyond its rated limits.

9. User Tips

  • Pre-installation Check: Before final installation, perform a quick test of all light segments and the buzzer (if applicable) by temporarily connecting them to a 24V DC source to ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Cable Management: When installing, especially with bendable models, ensure sufficient slack in the wiring to prevent strain during adjustments or operation.
  • Environmental Suitability: While the non-metallic construction offers corrosion resistance, always ensure the specific IP rating of your model (IP54 or IP20) is appropriate for the environmental conditions of your application.
