1. Introduction

3. Device Overview

Familiarize yourself with the camera's components:

  • Infrared Lamp: For night vision.
  • Reset Button: Used for resetting the device.
  • SD Card Slot: For local storage.
  • Microphone (Built-in): For audio input.
  • Power Interface: For connecting the power supply.
  • Speaker: For audio output and voice prompts.

4. Setup Guide

4.1 Powering On

  1. Connect the power adapter to the camera's power interface.
  2. Plug the power adapter into a wall outlet.
  3. The camera will power on and initiate its startup sequence. Wait for the voice prompt: "System startup has been completed."
  4. The camera will then prompt: "Please configure WiFi."
  5. If the camera does not prompt "Please configure WiFi", use the provided reset pin to press the reset button until you hear a "beep" sound, then release.

4.2 App Download and Installation

To control and monitor your Neye S5 camera, download the "Neye3C" app:

  • For Android: Search "Neye3C" in the Google Play Store.
  • For iOS: Search "Neye3C" in the Apple App Store.
  • Alternatively, scan the QR code provided in the user manual (or on the product packaging) to download the app.

4.3 Camera Configuration (Sonic Mode)

  1. Open the "Neye3C" app and sign up/log in to your account.
  2. On the device list screen, click the "+" icon to add a new device.
  3. Select "Add WiFi Camera Using Sonic" (or "Smart Add").
  4. Follow the on-screen instructions, ensuring the device is connected to power and flashing a blue light, and you hear the "please configure WiFi" prompt. Click "NEXT".
  5. Enter your WiFi network's password and click "NEXT".
  6. Click "Configure" and wait for the camera to connect. The camera will provide voice prompts like "WiFi password has been obtained" and "WiFi connection successfully."
  7. Once connected, click "New device" in the app, then "OK" to add the camera to your device list.
  8. Click on the newly added device to view the live feed.

Important Cautions for Setup:

  • The device should be placed within 10 meters of the router when configuring.
  • The phone media volume should be turned to the maximum, and keep the phone and camera within 50cm during configuration.
  • The device does not support 5G WiFi signals. Please connect to a 2.4G WiFi network.
  • The device does not support hiding Wi-Fi networks.
  • The WiFi name and password cannot contain Chinese characters or special characters, and should be 10 characters or less.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Live View and PTZ Control

Once connected, access the live feed through the Neye3C app. You can control the camera's pan (horizontal) and tilt (vertical) movements directly from the app. The camera offers a 320° horizontal and 90° vertical rotation for a comprehensive 360° panoramic view without dead angles.

5.2 Automatic Motion Tracking and Detection

The camera features AI-powered automatic motion tracking. When detecting an unwelcome approaching, the built-in siren goes off and the spotlight turns on to deter strangers. The camera supports tracking of moving objects and recording of traces without missing details.

5.3 Night Vision Modes

The Neye S5 camera provides ultra-clear night vision, capable of capturing detailed images even in dim light. It supports both infrared night vision and full-color night vision, utilizing intelligent night vision technology and an ultra-clear lens. WDR (Wide Dynamic Range) technology, large aperture, and precise image details can be captured even under backlight and low light conditions.

5.4 Two-Way Audio and Customized Voice

Communicate with the camera through the app using the bidirectional voice intercom feature. This allows you to chat freely with voice anytime and anywhere, with efficient noise reduction audio algorithms. The camera also supports customized voice content with entrance and exit intelligent recognition algorithms, suitable for different scenes.

5.5 AP Hotspot Functionality

The camera comes with an AP hotspot WiFi, which allows it to be monitored and viewed on your phone even if the camera is disconnected from the main network during installation or in case of an internet outage.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the camera lens and body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Firmware Updates: Regularly check the Neye3C app for available firmware updates to ensure your camera has the latest features and security enhancements.
  • SD Card Management: If using an SD card for storage, periodically review and manage recordings to prevent the card from filling up. Consider formatting the card every few months to maintain performance.
  • Power Supply: Ensure the camera is connected to a stable power source. Avoid frequent power interruptions.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Camera not connecting to WiFi:
    • Ensure your router is 2.4GHz, as the camera does not support 5G WiFi.
    • Place the camera within 10 meters of the router during configuration.
    • Verify that your WiFi name and password do not contain special characters and are 10 characters or less.
    • Make sure your phone's media volume is at maximum and keep the phone and camera within 50cm during the sonic configuration process.
    • If the camera doesn't prompt for WiFi configuration, perform a reset using the reset pin.
  • Poor image quality:
    • Check for any obstructions or dirt on the camera lens and clean if necessary.
    • Ensure adequate lighting in the environment, especially for optimal night vision performance.
    • Verify the camera's resolution settings in the app (e.g., 4MP or 8MP depending on model).
  • No audio or poor audio quality:
    • Check the microphone and speaker settings in the Neye3C app.
    • Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the microphone or speaker on the camera.
    • Reduce background noise in the camera's environment.
  • Camera offline:
    • Check the power supply to the camera.
    • Verify your home WiFi network is active and stable.
    • If the internet is down, you may still be able to connect via the camera's AP hotspot (refer to section 5.5).
